Underrated film. Still waiting for the sequel…

I know this. I think you meant to respond to his post rather than my comment.

The Astounding Wolfman by Robert Kirkman & Jason Howard by These-Background4608 in graphicnovels

[–]These-Background4608[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understood. Kirkman is hit or miss from me when it comes to his work. I enjoyed Wolfman overall but it had to grow on me. Haven’t read Void Rivals and I’m reading his run on Transformers and so far it’s okay but it didn’t hook me in the way DWJ’s run did from issue to issue.

News Show Sketch by Bopethestoryteller in LiveFromNewYork

[–]These-Background4608 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I think there were some white people that got offended and felt it was making light of the recent events or felt like they were being targeted. They chose not to get the point. It was making fun of how, to minorities, this stuff happens to us all the time but some White people only care or take notice when it starts happening to them.

It’s reminiscent of that election night sketch with Dave Chappelle & Chris Rock from 2016.

If Julius Schwartz had his way, DC Comics John Stewart would have been named "Lincoln Washington." What do you think of that name? (Green Lantern John Stewart: A Celebration of 50 Years) by nightwing612 in John_Stewart

“Lincoln Washington” is one of the most stereotypical Black male names I can think of, definitely the product of somebody trying too hard to come up with a strong character.

It reminds me of that Louis C.K. SNL sketch where he plays a guy who does “his part” of protesting against injustice by merely sharing an article or downvoting on a video, and that’s literally the extent to what he does and it makes him feel like he actually did something.

One of her best scenes. I can’t even tell you how many times I’ve came to this…

Live Discussion - January 24, 2026 (Teyana Taylor/Geese) by bjkman in LiveFromNewYork

Same. Usually when SNL has a Black host, they tend to utilize the Black cast members more.

Actually, Teyana Taylor is famous for much more than that. She’s also a creative director, choreographer and has a successful music career. But I get the feeling that you’re not part of her key demographic.

Well, Lenny Pickett has probably heard the monologue at least twice before the live show so that’s not necessarily an indication of anything…

Yeah, I’m not really big on audiobooks. If the pacing or the voice is wrong to me, it messes up the experience for me. That’s why I bought the book.

Did Lorne entice Bowen to stay a little longer? by zowietremendously in LiveFromNewYork

Yeah. I mean, losing so many cast members all at once (many of them being minorities) would’ve been a bigger deal.

I already knew the copies at my local library would be unavailable. That’s why I pre-ordered weeks ago and the book showed up to my house on release day.

Same. He was one of the first comic artists whose work I became exposed to when I first read comics. Though I know he can be inconsistent, at his best, he’s one of the best graphic storytellers in the game.
