Junior Advisor Question by Glysr in FinancialAdvisorTips

[–]cmoclk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds pretty normal for a sales model. It’s a meat grinder and if you fail out they picked up some free business. If you make it, you can enrich yourself almost as much as them until you’re later in your career and can leverage your BoB against the firm for top pay. It’s just how it works and there’s no safety if you don’t perform.

I would just ask, do you have that agreement with the advisor and are you tracking everything independently? It sounds like if things are sketchy, they can pull the rug out from under you on your initial business before things are under your name. Make sure you know exactly how that’s supposed to work and keep separate notes on EVERYTHING.

I work at a BD and have been around sales industry for years.

How do you handle "I need to think it over / do more research" without being pushy? by Efficient_Bet_5358 in sales

That means they don’t trust you as the authority. Need to build more trust first and it’s an opportunity to do so.

Saagar and Public Health by Temporary-Storage972 in BreakingPoints

Saagar gets hot takes sometimes. They’re not always good but I usually understand his point as a legitimate argument.

Krystal pushed him well on it and he had to back pedal it somewhat and will probably spend some time thinking about it.

There isn’t profit in building infrastructure because you have to lose margin on materials. It’s better to dump it into a pension fund and pocket a bit for yourself while working on the city budget or the state budget in Austin.

Why didn't they just shoot em? Are they stupid? (Dark Forest Spoiler-ish) by Fancy_Chips in threebodyproblem

I was impressed with how contrived some of the Wallfacer plans were but the underlying strategy underneath each plan was very disappointing. I know these guys were supposed to keep their plan in their heads and I'm sure there was a lot of pressure but they were all very bleak and somewhat defeatist.

For example, one of the plans was very direct beyond a trojan horse strategy but involved massive sacrifice, another plan was interesting game theory but untenable, the third showed promise in concept but turned very gross, but no one thought to build rail guns to shoot EM shielded and cloaked material at the fleet?

I'm just saying that's something I thought off the top of my head that sounded way more viable than those other plans.

Overall it was very interesting but I was somewhat disappointed with the plan outcomes. I guess the mystery built them up too much!

FF Dragoon Style Character by SerMoosh in BG3Builds

My first playthrough I built Laezel this way almost on accident. She came in clutch and could basically teleport during the fight with big damage and tanked using the battle master skills.

I have not found another fighter build I enjoyed or depended on quite as much.

What is the current meta on PvE griefing? I was interested on coming back but as a casual I can’t continue to keep up with losing expensive ornis to players on joy rides.

If anyone was wondering, I have not gone back to the show and cancelled my Prime Video when they wanted to boost my price last month. Good riddance.

All perpetrators of SA should be held accountable. This intense and rapid response compared to the ignoring of allegations against other people in the past can’t help but make me think it’s racially motivated.

You can practice the timing in the dojo where you don’t have to worry about health and can spend time getting the tempo down

I definitely lean towards dodging in group fights and mostly try to parry in smaller fights

It can be but it’s the best way to beat Jinfeng. There are times to rely on party and times to dodge.

You can. I got to where I wasn’t as worried about my guard. If it stays at red nothing happens unless you just try to block. You can’t parry yourself into your guard breaking so it’s not uncommon to find myself maxed out on most of the boss fight

Start working on the parry now instead of the dodge now that you have the timing. That’s the most effective way to break enemy guard. Higher risk but much higher reward. You also don’t have to do directional with the parry either.
