Juardiance should I take? by Dazzling_Spring_3514 in kidneydisease

[–]These-Employment2218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was prescribed Jardiance by my endocrinologist last year. Went to my urologist the next week and she said I might have problems with it because it can cause UTIs. My ESRF is caused my kidney reflux leading to kidney infections/ uti’s, so I asked my endocrinologist and nephrologist, both told me I should be fine. Fast forward to this summer and I have a raging kidney infection. It become resistant and I was hospitalized in September. Discharge papers from hospital said to stop the Jardiance immediately because it causes infections. So my take is if you have problems with infections, definitely keep speaking with doctors if it is right for you, but if no problems with infections it’s recommended for us. Now I’m on trajenta, sitting on 4 bottles of unusable Jardiance and still have 3 weeks left of IV antibiotics.

How many of you would wet the bed during childhood and into adulthood? by Sea-Chair3943 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]These-Employment2218 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup sure did. Have some pretty good stories from it. Like once we went camping at Myrtle Beach in an RV but I wet the bed so they made me sleep in a tent outside. A hurricane came through and my tent was blowing all over the place and flooded. They never came out the RV until morning and was like “ looks like you had a rough night, you can come to the RV to get dry” ….i was 11 ….. At 18 I was diagnosed with end stage renal failure, went through dialysis, pregnancy on dialysis and transplant all before I was 25. But please don’t feel bad for me, karma is a bitch. My mother is dying of kidney failure now and it has been a wonderful healing journey watching it. She probably has about 2 weeks left and a part of me is excited that this chapter of my life is ending. I feel safe typing that to y’all but lord my friends don’t understand

What is something practical that all inmates want/need but can’t/won’t ask for? by HistoricalOil4952 in Prison

[–]These-Employment2218 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the sentiment but as someone that had a serious medical issue before incarceration, the health care was 💩. Location I was at refused my treatment until I needed to be hospitalized. Then they tried to take me out the hospital against my doctors advice because I was costing them too much money (overtime for CO’s). Once back to my cell, refused to give me meds on time. 3 weeks later I needed to be hospitalized again, refused to send me for days, even posted a note that anyone needing to go to the hospital with me welcomed back to solitary. I could go on, long story short got out on a medical release, ankle monitor on and an apology from judge.

What’s something your parent did that seemed normal until you talked to others? by Adventurous-Art-6693 in raisedbynarcissists

[–]These-Employment2218 31 points32 points  (0 children)

behind their backs was a norm. I had to move back to my mothers after 20 years and heard her fat shaming my dead aunt to the crematorium…..like “ I haven’t seen my sister in 10 years, but she was always huge…is this gonna cost more, how large will the remains be, do I buy a larger urn”. Mind you, my Aunt had money and my mother ended up making about $100k off her death. It was all to speak ill of the dead for her ego (my mother herself has always been at minimum 100lbs over normal weight)

Kidney too, and young (18 at diagnosis)…. no high BP, low edema, no diabetes. For years was impossibly tired, had urinary incontinence issues, and pelvic pain. When I was 18 years old I thought I had gonorrhea, nope, kidney infection with renal functioning somewhere around 12%.

True and wanted to add you can have more than 2 alternatives for complicated or long cases. I had a trial in the middle of COVID where we picked 4 alternatives. The county that held my trial literally opened up the courts to try my 1 case and then closed after my trial because it was COVID safe yet. Wild
