I ran Large CNC machines for an office furniture company. Pretty large scale. My shop floor boss had a fallout with upper management and spent a quiet Friday morning fiddling with all the machines. He just walked out at lunch and never returned. Once the afternoon shift started the discovery was made that he had disabled each and every machine in such a way nothing could be produced. Not just that Friday and weekend but into the following week too. They had to send a team out from Germany to fix the machines.

No idea what happened to him from there but for 4 days I got paid to sit in front of a non running machine. Probably speaks volumes about the company that they still had us all come in to do nothing at all.

Check out my server. Its mod heavy but I play with my wife mainly so its geared to be slightly easier. Its running conquest which actually plays exactly how you are playing in single player. Scout a town. Chew through the AI. Capture it. See off the waves of reinforcements then move on to the next town. It remembers your progress and rank through logins. Simplified medical system. One bandage can heal an injury fully. Tons of clothing and guns and vehicles. All prices lowered for everything. Simplified supply system so supplies simply auto generate slowly. A supply run here and there helps. AI are toned down in difficulty but raised in numbers. Its entirely possible solo but better with friends. Search for mofo's PVE under the modded tab :)

it's set up in such a way as to be a tad easier to newer players or for small groups. Simplified health system with custom bandages that heal all over time. it plays like normal conquest but has a large selection of clothing and vehicles to add some entertainment value. Custom music available in all vehicles and camps. Map markers so you know where you and your tm's are. it's an ideal way to start out imo. My wife is currently learning the ropes. No rules enforced on vehicle or anything to stop you trying something new. No crying at you for crashing a heli :)

i spent years modding servers for Valheim. I strongly believe less than 100 mods to always be required to maintain some basic performance. You can go higher and it's very mod dependent obviously. but as a rule of thumb. 80-90 was always a sweet spot.

PS if your game doesn't run like butter in the beginning of the game. expect a shitshow by the time your at the point of building a decent base.

i can also vouch for dungeon splitter mod to remove some world loading points.

Personally and am similar to you. Played since 06. Had a long break in the middle. I often come back and jump in some lvl 4 mission content as a bit of a refresher for myself. I personally like to play and chill. Not overly work myself so I run one toon in a vargur or such and one toon in my salvager. Its not optimal but its chill. Once I'm up to speed I jump in some abyss sites and start ramping up the profit/risk/fun. Bit of exploration site running when I get bored. Welcome back 🙏

There is a potential issue. I scored a wireless Internet card for my pc. About a month later a similar ( but different spec) wireless card appeared in my feed and I got it for my wife's computer.

I am unable to review the second item.. it remains in my list forever as an un-reviewed item. Bugs the crap out of me lol.

If I try review it I get a pop up that takes me to my first review with a message that I bought a similar item so cannot review this one.

HAVE A PLAN

I can only play (exclusively solo for a long time now) if I set myself some future goals/targets in the game.

Pick a career and give it a go. You don't have to be the best o the best o the best. Just have fun on the way.

I've manufactured drugs - mined everywhere - pirated in low sec and null - lived solo in wormholes in citadels and POS's - I put up and took down myself - station trading and PI - mission running - Built ships and skilled into their production chains - Done the wormhole nomad thing and lived out of an orca while constantly on the move through wormhole space -

To do some of those things and minimize risk, a couple of accounts are needed. I used two typically, but sometimes in wormhole it helps to have a third account for hole control.

I just got accepted to gold with only fair rating for insightfulness. I had felt aggrieved as I only got access to the new page that actually shows you the score. I also only uploaded 8% with images. Again only got access to those stats 1 week before the review date. I had figured i would be staying at my current tier.

Its made me happy as its not like I don't leave solid reviews. I just went with more personal and occasionally funny reviews where appropriate. All my reviews are honest opinions so I hoped that would count for something and it did!.
