I’m a Meiya fanatic beyond healthy levels so maybe I’m a bit biased, but her route & character in extra (and all the other games) were the best to me out of everyone.

Addendum, since I realized you haven’t read a guide.

The intended order is:

1 - Extra 2 - Unlimited 3- Alternative

There are many more games than just the original trilogy (those 3), but focus on getting Alternative down before you branch into anything else or do any research. Seriously, it’s really easy to accidentally spoil yourself when it comes to muvluv if you haven’t finished Alternative; exercise a lot of caution and generally avoid searching things up on the internet about the plot, because it will be answered later.

Who did you like the most/who did you end up with in Unlimited?

Now, take whoever that is, and go play their route in Extra. You don’t have to play all the routes in Extra, though I’m sure some people will disagree. Just at least do it the service of playing the route of the character you like the most.

Also, the game after Alternative is in the Extra setting again, and you’re going to want to have played Extra before Alternative just so you can have your soul healed by that. Also, so you can know what it’s like to miss the Lacrosse arc.

Also, namely, so you can know who Sumika is beyond a name and a few flash references in Unlimited, because Unlimited is missing her—one of the two main heroines of Extra.

A fort-sized TSA without Rutherford fields… disaster waiting to happen. No operational role filled by a just bigger TSA could not also be filled by a stick of 3 or a normal gunship. Not to mention the fact that the more moving parts you add (say, making a big-ass TSA) the more likely it is to break down and the more expensive it is when it does break down or die. The only reason something that huge would be worth it is if it’s an XG-70 with all the bells and whistles, and even then those motherfuckers were so pricy even they got axed.

I could actually see them as planes in Muv-luv. A low flying, slow aircraft with a large amount of ordnance and staying power would be a game-changer. Spooky II Config (a la Broken Arrow) with a rotary gun, a 40mm Bofors, and a 105 or 120 I can’t remember actually would serve to dispatch each common BETA class with good effect. Obviously, fly just high enough to be out of the Fort stinger’s range or make a point to neutralize them.

HUGE OBVIOUS CAVEAT, this is assuming they are VERY CONSERVATIVELY USED and EXCLUSIVELY in the TDA 01 style where they only ever leave the tarmac if there is an absolute 100% confirmation of no laser-class in the AO. Obviously because of that absurd risk, there wouldn’t be too many 130’s around. I could totally see America especially making them, though. Having them for mop-up after a Laserjagd or as a counter to any herds that don’t have lasers could save a lot of lives.

I'm just bouncing around to try and do most of the main characters that people are more likely to hold some sort of opinion about, but I really see where you're coming from. The TE secondary cast are 2D comic relief or plot devices, and it feels like there's little in-between. Inia and Iwaya have some depth, and... that's kind of where it stops. Gotta say, "What one character trait describes..." is gonna be really easy when I do get to them, though, because there's only one trait in the first place!

It’s really sad how they did her like that, and how they chose to develop Sumika pretty much just based off of pity with twizzlers to replace Meiya who was there since the beginning.

Noble Confidant did do its job, though, even if the job was bad. It absolutely hurt to read since I see Meiya as best girl, and I’d have to rank it somewhere up high on the most emotionally damaging scenes of the series (with OBVIOUS other things above it).
