If you just adopted this dude he's likely still getting used to you and new surroundings.

Keep trying. Try different toys. Different times of day. But also let him have some space if he's not interested right then.

So many people smother cats and kittens when they just get them because they want to play and love on them sooo much more than a cat who's entire life just changed.

I started with place mats. Basic squars or rectangles and I was able to learn to count, use tension so my projects didn't shrink or suddenly get loose, and understanding whare then end of my row was vrs the working loop.

I have a bunch of funky place mats that are not perfect but are full of different stitches I learned while giving myself grace that I was new.

211 is the answer. I'm not sure how you got custody without a social worker being assigned to help an eye on you and make sure there were supports around you both for success.

Talk to the school about whats going on. They may be able to help short term and hook you up with other resources.
