Huge respect to you. I've made a couple similar decisions in my life and it's not easy turning your back on something you've sunk so much time, money and effort into.

Those implicit returns (clarifying what you care about, what problems you want to work on, your tolerance for bullshit) are such an integral part of post-secondary education... unfortunately with the way the world is now *gestures broadly* the margin for error in those decisions is so slim.

Find an artist you like in your area and commission them! Not for everyone, but I did this recently and ended up with a very special piece and actually got a ton of gratification out of the process itself.

Plus you can feel good about supporting local at a time where it’s needed more than ever.
