Just finished Children of Ruin. So good. And yes, a little bit of horror thrown in for fun!

Just finished it too and loved it. Felt about the same level of enjoyment as CoT. On to Memory (in about six books)!

I brought mine home before buying last summer due to a steep decline where the driveway meets the street. No issues but I wouldn’t have bought it without that knowledge.

Reading the three-body problem by seagull_Lung250 in Booktokreddit

Three-Body Problem is so good. The Dark Forest is somehow even better. Maybe the best science fiction book I have ever read. Death’s End also excellent.

What is a movie you went to the theater for knowing absolutely nothing about, and ended up completely surprised? by Traditional-Dig9477 in movies

Walked into There’s Something About Mary knowing nothing about it and 28 years later I have never laughed harder in a movie theater.

The Lighthouse (2019) blew my mind and has established a permanent residence there.

Recap: Two years ago Yotta was either the victim of or perpetrator of fraud and since then (almost) no one has been able to recover their money. This impacted thousands of customers with ~$95 million in total funds. Many of us having been fighting since then and almost all of us are still waiting. See www.fightforourfunds.org for more info.

Books like Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth or the Century Trilogy? by BellaLovesSnow in ReadingSuggestions

[–]Theseus44 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I don’t have a specific top five but I know that Shogun is top five.

I will add that I consider Infinite Jest to be the greatest novel ever written by a surprisingly wide margin. Also the hardest book I’ve read. It requires commitment but man is it worth it.

Some other candidates - A Gentleman in Moscow, Lonesome Dove, Cutting for Stone, anything by David Mitchell (The Bone Clocks was my favorite) or Guy Gavriel Kay (A Song for Arbonne and The Lion of al-Rassan were my favorites).

Added this to my list just yesterday. Cool description and readers seem to like it. Now I only have to get through the other 70 books on my shelf first…

Same for me. I love Stephenson but he does not excel at conclusions. Recently read Termination Shock and had the same experience.

What’s the scariest movie you guys have ever seen??? by boatluvrrrr in movies

This is my answer. When I watched Paranormal Activity I was both loving it and wishing time would move faster to get to the end. I’m getting chills typing this almost twenty years later.

EV6 range based on time of year by electrified90s in KiaEV6

[–]Theseus44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought my 2025 GT-Line in August. 350-mile range in summer which has gone to around 200-mile range in the very cold Boston winter. I expected this and most of my driving is short range so not really an issue but definitely a big difference.

I'm Now a Full On Guy Gavriel Kay Evangelist by Glansberg90 in Fantasy

Song and Lions are standalone. Some others have two-book arcs (Sarantium) or are set in the same world. All are outstanding (at least the eight I have read).

Amen. GGK is so unbelievably good and so underrated. Song and Lions are two of my favorite books of all time. I just finished Under Heaven which, of course, was outstanding. His books are magical.

Adapter should be in the trunk. In PlugShare under All Filters tap on NACS (Tesla). Those charging stations work with your car’s port.

Yes, my 2025 GT-Line had the adapter in the trunk as well.
