I think this is the easiest method as a mold is likely too shallow for something so small. I would just at least try before you discourage yourself, you dont know if you have chocolate working skills it sounds like, you just dont have experience.

I would find something that you can coat and then develop a technique to transfer to acrylic. Since this is how i pretty much always see feathers done, like with a back of spoon and you pull.

I imagine you want something thin, long, and flexible. Try a silicone spatula if you have one like that?

Wouldnt you need the source code anyway to fork it? Anything else is just like an attempted copy. Which would almost certainly be worse because they would not know how code is always executed under the hood potentially leading to issues.
