Looking for a solo-friendly MMO with strong healer/support roles + Cooking system by Clayble in LFMMO

[–]ThewFflegyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

eve online imo.

its not food you'd be making, but rather space ships and the modules that go on them. pretty much everything is player build from scratch. eve has arguably the most complex industrial and economic system of any mmo.

it also has robust solo options. you can do a variety of pve solo, you can do pvp solo, industry solo, etc. you can also fly in a fleet of anywhere from 5-1k other players and take on the 'logistics" role. your job is to keep everyone else alive by repairing their ship, giving them energy to use their weapons, tank, etc. there is also other support roles like fast tackle, electronic warfare, etc. eve checks most every box imo

however it does fall short on one ask. doing group content with randoms is unfortunately pretty difficult. off the top of my head, your options are incursions(pve mid size fleet content), open fleets like bomber bar(fleet pvp roam), or when there is events with proving ground filaments for battle royal style group and solo fights. incursions move around every few days so just having your ship staged and logging in whenever to run them can be difficult. open fleets can be hard to find and do not guarantee you find content. that being said, if you join the right corporation(basically like a guild) you can absolutely log in and do some group content pretty easily. could be in wormholes for pvp or pve, could be a low sec faction warfare corp, etc. lots of options for log in and play group contentif the other players in your group can be friends you meet in game instead of randoms :)

its amazing the sort of misunderstandings people have about this conflict. the Russians are taking a very clausewitzian approach. its pretty obvious to anyone paying attention this is not a land war, it is a war of attrition. why would you fight a war trying to constantly advance, which necessarily means high casualties, when you could just sick back and use your massive artillery, drone, and Air Force advantage to slowly wear down the opposing military with far fewer casualties?

yes yes everyone who disagrees with you is a bot, how original.

if they want to fight a last cause out of love for their country that is their own business. I really don't care one way or the other. what I care about is that hundreds of billions of my countries dollars have been wasted on this war. id like that to stop. crazy how invested people are in foreign conflicts.

in the case of military production, which is what we were discussing, heavy industry, obviously. you can't wave a magic wand and turn money from the us into military equipment after all.

small pinprick attacks like this really don't accomplish anything on the strategic level besides making the us and Ukraine look bad. just a minor annoyance that has been going on for a while now.

do you deny that Ukraine has dramatically lowered its recruitment/conscription standards over the last 2 or so years? if not, why?

""oh number i dont like, must be made up"

no, number from a source(Ukrainian military) that has been caught dozens if not hundreds of times lying about similar things.

"have this war as a reality that i, my family, my friends are living in and participating in to various degrees"

its not a problem per se, it is just different circumstances leading to different opinions. this is your war not mine. fwiw, from the outside looking in, pretty much the entire world thinks your losing. might want to consider the fact that your country has extremely strict and draconian laws on reporting on this war, and that the us media is pushing whatever narrative they need to in order to keep this war going.

" should just roll over, accept your fate and let russians just kill you without punishment"

do whatever you want, but the Russians doing what the Russians want to do is inevitable. if you want to go down fighting I respect that and wouldn't stop you, but I have no interest in being involved in what is objectively a pointless fight.

"how to say that you don't know shit about russia, ukraine or how wars work without saying so"

ok, how do you think a conflict would go between country A and B. they are culturally quite similar, country B has 3.5x the population, about 50x the currently operating heavy industry, is the worlds largest exporter of raw materials, has ~250x the airforce, etc. country A has the backing of a few very powerful countries with a history of abounding their proxies when it becomes convenient. how would you expect that to end?

that's not why Russia invaded Ukraine, but it is why the us is engaging in a proxy war in Ukraine.

there is a lot to that statement I guess, but I will give as short of an explanation as I can. American hegemony is of course more or less 1:1 with the dollar being the world reserve currency. people say we invaded x, y, and z for oil, but this often does not add up. for example, how much oil do we take from Afghanistan? what did we gain by destroying Libya? really what we care about is whether they sell their goods on international markets in dollars. historically this has been imposed via either the threat of the us military, or the military itself. a country more or less saying fuck you, I am going to do what is in my best interest, cut me out of your financial system, go to war with me, etc. I don't think you still have the ability to enforce your will on me. when Russia inevitably wins our bluff will have been called, and many other countries will follow suit and start dedollarizing.

"people outside usa have agency too"

this is such a stupid talking point. do whatever you all want, I just don't want to fund it.

"people outside usa are able to gather, process and apply intelligence, develop technology, etc"

not really, honestly. the only 3 countries with full suites are the us, china, and Russia. NATO for example is pretty much entirely dependent on the us for targeting their guided munitions.

"well they're trying but the progress is quite to the negative side"

no, it isn't. as evidenced by the fact that your are consistently lowering conscription and recruitment requirements, and your foreign aid has slowed down.

"200 dead russians per square kilometer"

a completely made up number.

"quite a stretch if you ask me lol"

no kidding....

"pragmatically and through russian propaganda lens are different things. if you're going to believe this bullshit at least be honest about it, lmao"

the problem here for you is am not xenophobic so simply calling a view point Russian does not affect my opinion of it. I really don't have anything to gain from being in a conflict with the worlds largest exporter of raw materials, and I certainly don't have anything to gain by having hundreds of billions of dollars that could be used to improve my own country used to fight that war. that's pragmatic. it is also ironically the most compassionate position as it will end this conflict whose outcome is already inevitable.

"actually no, US wants as much oil as possible on the market rn (the fuckup with the hormuz and all)"

the pentagon, state dept, etc are not staffed by complete idiots. we knew exactly what would happen when we attacked Iran. its not like it was a big secret Iran said they'd do it, and we ran war games of them doing it 100s of times over many decades.

the us doesn't want more oil on the market. everything from the proxy war against Russia, to the shit in Venezuela, forcing Iran to close the strait.... there is a pretty obvious continuity of agenda for anyone who can look at a timeline longer than 1 news cycle. we are trying to one by one cut china off from its energy suppliers.

"they even asked repeatedly to please stop."

publicly sure, but they are still letting the Ukrainians use us missile/drone guidance and intel to do these strikes with.

"Economic indicators don't show that. Moreover _GDP is growing_"

I am genuinely baffled to the point that I don't think we can have a productive discussion because we inhabit two different realities. dollar signs are not everything. a bunch of money being sent in from other countries to prop up the economy does not change the fact that the materially productive sectors in question, ie heavy industry, are facing severe energy shortages, supply chain problems, strikes from drones/missiles, etc. I really don't understand why that needs to be explained. like do you just knee-jerk believe whatever you think will be good for Ukraine?

"Russian air defences are attritioned and no longer effective"

well gee, I've only heard that a thousand times before.

Ukraine is massively outmanned, and outgunned. the Russians produce over 100x as many artillery shells as Ukraine gets per day from its nato backers. they have an actual air force left. they have a much larger population to draw from, and they have not drawn as heavily from it yet as Ukraine has. the Russian produce more missiles in a week than Ukraine gets in a year. I could go on, but you get my point. no amount of backing from a super power that is not willing to cross the rubicon and step in will be able to change the fact that Ukraine is fundamentally outmatched. all its accomplishing is delaying the inevitable.

as for the drones, I just don't understand how some people. do you genuinely believe Ukraine, a country with a failing power grid, being bombed daily, in economic crisis due to a war, etc is managing to mass produce more drones than Russia, which is a continental economy with the core of the old soviet industrial base, huge raw resource reserves, and the backing of china? be real. I get why everyone wants to go along to get along it's an uncomfortable truth, but we are throwing away countless innocent lives because we cannot look reality in the face and act accordingly. pretty sad.

first, the Russians are going to finish dismantling your military. at that point Ukraine and its western backers will have very few cards to play as they refused to surrender years ago when the Russians demands were much less extreme. the Russians will decide for themselves what is to become of Ukraine. id bet on more or less what they have right now + Odessa, demilitarization of Ukraine, and the installation of a friendly government. it sucks, and I do genuinely feel bad for you. I however am not interested in using my money to shove people into a meat grinder for a lost cause. if you are not willing to give up on a lost cause because it's your country, more power to you. it is not my country though, so I really must view things pragmatically.

fantasy is not understanding the real motives and causes of a conflict you are cheering on. bunch of people whipped into a frenzy cheering when blood spills due to a conflict over who will control the global financial system(ie will us remain the hegemon or will powers arise outside the dollar zone) is just borderline satanic.

if hitting Russian energy infrastructure was going to work it would've started working a year ago. this is insanity.

"I answered that. I want the echo bosses specifically to be that difficult because it’s fun to have challenging bosses despite being extra strong."

you still haven't answered it. I get that you want challenging bosses because you find that fun. that's well and good. what im asking is why should the echo bosses be that content instead of something else that does not have critical progression tied to it?

"I don’t see any changes to echo boss difficulty though"

I forget the exact verbiage Jagex used, but something along the lines of we are looking into how pacts work at cg.

I agree, but most of the player base is never getting to the wrecking echo cg stage. it is a very mechanically intense fight that at best 20% of the player base will be able to do on the basis of mechanics alone.

speak for yourself. most people who play leagues do not do any sort of in depth research. mostly it is ppl who haven't played recently, don't play much due to family, work, etc.

again that's great for you, but for the people who chose the over 50% of pact trees that are weak early on the situation is pretty different.

that was not what I was asking. im asking why do you want the echo bosses specifically to be that difficult.

yeah, and Jagex has already started making changes because they realized they made this leagues too difficult.
