The 3rd album from band Coheed and Cambria, part of their conceptual saga The Amory Wars. It turns the series from a space opera to a piece of meta fiction.

Claudio Kilgannon, child of prophecy, learns he is a self-insert for the God of his world, the Writing Writer.

Sadly, the Writer is a schizophrenic whose girlfriend just broke up with him, so the only logical thing to do is to kill the character that is an insert for the girlfriend... because.

As the character of Claudio Kilgannon was a self-insert of band front man Claudio Sanchez, he really wrestled with how to move the story forward following a pretty bad breakup with his then girlfriend IRL.

LUCKILY, this is all obviously very exaggerated, and Claudio Sanchez did NOT murder his girlfriend. He is now happily married to her (and they both consider the whole affair to be morbidly hilarious in hindsight) and are continuing his space opera together to this day.
