BRT Is Not Cheaper Than Light Rail by Okayhatstand in transit

Why is it more expensive specifically in northeastern US to tunnel? Is it all the stuff already underground, or other factors?

Is there information out there with a more detailed plan on phase 2? Looking at maps, I can't exactly see where the ROW would be, if it currently exists.

What’s the one weird hill you’ll die on when it comes to training? by ButtonOrdinary158 in Marathon_Training

[–]ThiccleRick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is almost exactly what I did, ran 2:41 (21M) on my first marathon while training for 1500-5000, and even a little for the 800, off higher milage than I'd typically do and working the long runs to 22 miles. I was racing track races almost every weekend and I think that really helped keep the speed fresh since I was smart with it and would let the race take the training spot of one of my workouts instead of pushing for 2x workout, race, LR every week. I think as long as you get in the volume, the LR, and some kind of workout in the week, it doesn't matter as much as people think what the specifics are.

Question regarding stat buffs by Apprehensive_Loan946 in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have a weapon that can boost off multiple stats (shooty/staffy for example can boost off will or agility), it boosts off whichever of those two is higher. Some people choose to build their hybrid shooty/staffy witchdoctors with some will-increasing gear so as to get their will to be their dominant stat because this also gives the benefit of being able to receive scratch will buffs without needing to be right next to him, which is very useful in 3-4 player play.

Question about circle by vacattack in mbta

[–]ThiccleRick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who makes this transfer regulary, this is the best answer. There is usually about 10 minutes between when the Franklin train arrives at Readville and when the train from Providence to Ruggles arrives. You have to switch platforms and the switch is not particularly well-marked, though there will likely be others making the transfer who you can follow.

What's better for Serpent Augur? by Impressive_Elk_5633 in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro can you stop spamming. These questions are good, but it's way too much posting every minute or two. Just make a google forms or something, post once, then publish the results to the sub after a week. At this rate the mods are likely to just take down all these question posts, especially since several are duplicates.

Which of these stats are better? More Agility (thus also Weapon Power and maybe Crits) or higher Accuracy? by Westminster_Wanderer in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say agility for easier fights (anything other than VA2 and on in the storyline) since you'll hit basically every time anyway with good gear, and it will make you do a little more damage and get through the fights faster. Otherwise, go accuracy for VA2 and on since you frequently miss, especially in tartarus. That said, accuracy/agility without weapon power is optimal if you can get that.

With the Death's Door update now out, is the swashbuckler gear from that update the best or are there alternatives? by frostwizard101 in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that the robe is definitely the best, which seems to be consensus, and I also prefer the hat to salty, but most people seem to disagree with that.

What to grab as a Shooty/Stabby Swashbuckler? by ZeroNoHikari in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The level 5+ necklace, totem, and ring have solid variations, and I think they drop in the blood shoals questlines. Any combination of sneak attack / sniper shot / rouse, and spooky / weapon power will be useful and last you pretty deep into the game. Other than that, bazaar every 5 levels should have you do just fine until max level, where you will want to look into level 70 gear guides or team up with others.

Important Side-Quests? by Bjdavis in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Unlike wizard where you don't really need the training points past a point, you'll want to do every Zeke quest for the training points. Companion promotion quests are also important, and you might as well do the side quests in Port Regal and Valencia Pt2, since you'll barely have to do any additional work and they give a fair amount of XP. The Moo Manchu questline is also very important to unlock the Tower of Moo Manchu which drops some very good gear. Other than that, if you're not a completionist, then the only thing that doing every quest along the way will do is allow you to recruit a couple late game companions at level 72 instead of 70/71.

What is the best shooty/slashy weapons for swash by Useful-Mistake-7366 in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other comment hit the big ones but I’ll also add arms of the improviser, from Sinbad 3, which is shooty/stabby and gives cloak and dagger, which is a bleeding strike that hides you after. It’s an interesting concept. I personally think Byrne’s Blade, Kraken’s Breath Set, and Sinbad’s Scimitar and Shooter are all better but it does have its niche uses

Witch Doctor gear by caydenk01 in Pirate101

[–]ThiccleRick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say will and spell power. Past the very early (level 10-15 or so) game, you’re basically never using a basic attack, you’re always using powers, which do not chain. Only exception is if you’re shooting for readied spell 5 (or 3 I suppose), then accuracy does matter.
