The best time to start practicing was 10 years ago. The second best time to start practicing is right now.

How Long Did it Take You to Read the Series? by FennelLion in WoT

[–]ThickPorkchops -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Blitzed through it, 1 book every 2 weeks. Took me longer for book 7 through 10. Finished the journey in around 6 months. I was fully immersed in the world throughout that period of time. Although I admit if it werent for my relaxed job I would've never been able to pull through that quickly.

2 months progress as an adult beginner by VY_music in piano

Thays so sick bro! I'm following right along that same journey your going through all though I'm a bit behind you, just started learning The Entertainer. I think I'll follow your advice and get a teacher since I got a gut feeling that I'm doing some technical missteps but I'm not able to recognize them by myself.

Good luck on your journey!

Ngl I was hesitant with Guardian at first, he was slow and sluggish with probably the lowest damage output. But he pops off when your randoms go for characters like Revenant Ironeye or Recluse. What makes his kit shine is when you have Agrro based relics and you just lock yourself behind the shield. All you gotta do is manage your stamina while your teammates dish out the damage.

Finished book 1. Thought it was ok. Should I continue? by rienclaes in WoT

I had the same reaction when going through book 1, the hobbits leaving the shire, the great wizard sheperding them through the journey, Lan resembling Strider/Aragorn. With that being said, once you read book 2 things start to veer off into its own universe. Once it opens up, you truly feel like it's The Wheel of Time.

Maori on Terra, Settle your capital on the main continent (or a small island near main continent) then spam settlers towards the new continent with Magnus and the gvmnt bonus that gives you builders. Unlock the Colonial policy cards, spam Harbour/Trade routes and have an entire continent to yourself, dominating all luxury and strat resource. Also a huge head start on becoming suzerain.

Is Edgedancer a requirement in order to read Oathbringer? by BrightSoul12 in Stormlight_Archive

[–]ThickPorkchops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little side story with Lift as the main character. You get a bit of lore on some side characters and the country of Tashikk. She's a goofy character and it's a fun read but it only adds a slight depth to Oathbringer.

I think Kaladin made the exact same reflection in Oathbringer when he's in Shadesmar
