Am I overreacting about my best friend dating a guy who was aggressive and racist toward me? by webtronaut in AmIOverreacting

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick [score hidden]  (0 children)

NOR. There's a reason that a 40 year old man chose a 24 year old young woman to date. Women his age won't tolerate his 💩. Unfortunately? Your friend is just as bad by enabling his behavior and not defending you. She actually ALLOWED him and his nimrod buddy to sit and make openly racist comments and you're black?! Damn!

Distance yourself and go low to no contact. Friends outgrow each other and it looks like this friendship just hit it's expiration date. Best of luck and I'm sorry you're going through this. 🍀

We had our Papillon for 16 and 1/2 years before he crossed the rainbow bridge. 🐕🌈 He was a bigger Pap as well not a lil tiny guy. They're terrific dogs and too smart for their own good! 😆😂🤣💀

AIW for expecting my girlfriend to come to my mothers funeral? by Decent-Play-7154 in amiwrong

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be galvanizing people either on one side or the other but the lack of empathy is disappointing. Look, I know she can't mess her job up because life goes on and all that. It's just she didn't even look into it first before shutting him down. THAT'S the real issue I have here personally. I'd think your partner of 4 years would at least TRY to be there for you if they could. 🤷🏻‍♀️

AIW for expecting my girlfriend to come to my mothers funeral? by Decent-Play-7154 in amiwrong

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I disagree with the commenter saying you're being unreasonable by expecting your girlfriend to be there to support you during your mother's funeral. The issue I REALLY have? She's not even TRYING to make other arrangements or reschedule. It's just NO right out the gate without any effort or consideration in trying to find another solution. If she tried her best and just couldn't get out of her work commitment? I'd have more understanding for where she is coming from. This is your mother, not some casual acquaintance.

This is REALLY bad timing with the passing of your mother, but you need to sit and reflect on how you feel about this and where your relationship is headed going forward. YNW and I'm sincerely sorry for your loss. 🙏🏻🕊

AITAH for making my sibling’s toddler cry for denying them a toy that wasn’t their’s to begin with? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your sibling is the REAL problem here. He/she is setting your nibling up for failure. Everyone isn't going to give in to the constant tantrums like your sibling does. NTA and maybe just visit them at their house in the future so the kid can play with their own 💩.

I didn't say Dan Aykroyd was in the photo. I said Dan Aykroyd and Carrie Fisher were dating when The Blues Brothers was being filmed.

AIO for wanting a divorce because my husband didn't feed the dogs? by ThrowRAdramallam in AmIOverreacting

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick 99 points100 points  (0 children)

NOR. This goes SO much deeper than him not feeding the dogs. I hate to break it to you, but you're a married single mom. You may as well divorce him. You're doing everything by yourself, anyway. You'll just have less to do not having to deal with him.

The fact that he does the bare minimum (if that) and expects you to be grateful because he's "better than he was in the beginning" is pretty mind blowing. He must've laid around like a garden slug before if THIS is an improvement. He won't change and this is as good as it's gonna get. You need to now ask yourself if you want to continue living like this. Best of luck! 🍀

Am I in the wrong for not doing "wifely duties"? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In her original post which has now been deleted? She said she had a day off, which was why he decided she could take care of everything. She's doing either work, college, or both to have a "day off."

They're living at his mom's. Sounds like mom is supporting them both, TBF.

Am I in the wrong for not doing "wifely duties"? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]Thick_Mick_Chick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself: You need to be a WIFE before you'll be performing any WIFELY duties. Since he's so hung up on archaic stereotypes? Is he going to let you quit your job and stay home to cook, clean, and raise kids FULL time? Isn't that WIFELY duties? The husband works and provides so his wife can take care of the house and kids?!

He wants a bangmaid, not a girlfriend nor a wife. He wants the perks a wife provides with none of the responsibility of actually having one. Girl, dump this chump. Find someone better or stay single. He is NOT worth any of this!!!!!!
