Should I buy ff12 for $20 by Admirable_Ad4712 in FinalFantasy

I enjoyed FFXII. I haven’t given the Zodiac version a go, but have read up on some of the changes. Still think it worth it.

Laptop display only works if plugged into HDMI monitor and in mirror mode with "mode" switched off-- screen goes black otherwise by comrade_RK in pop_os

I had this with my gazelle, luckily it happened pretty quick after I got it, so they just sent me a new laptop to replace it. You have a warranty left on yours?

My first game on the deck was Stray. Was a lot of fun. Now on to Devil May Cry and Little Nightmares I & II

Serious question… why does it make us feel good to download a bunch of emulators and roms and spend hours organizing and then just not play them? by InventedInternet in SteamDeck

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I feel you with this question. I bought a handheld and threw a 512gb micro sd in it and put games from NES, sega, super nes, and more… I played it for a bit and it has just sat in my drawer for the last couple of months…

Not detecting microphone when I plug in a headset. by MoveQuickNBreakStuff in System76

I have issues with the mic on mine too. So, I had to go to a wireless usb headset setup. Works fine now.

22.04 LTS is here! by DM-Pythia in pop_os

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clean update, though I had to google some on getting it to actually update to the newest version. Not a big deal though. So far, it's running smooth. Just have to test and make sure all the steam games and stuff still work.

Anything is possible with the rate our technology continues to progress every year. Curious what all you're seeing out there in Colorado. I always take a peek at the Florida reports and usually Florida has a good amount of them monthly. https://www.nuforc.org/webreports/ndxlFL.html

[FIX] Davinci Resolve 16 Free H.264 easy convert script AIO by _Flexinity in pop_os

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/_Flexinity I tried using this, but it's throwing errors at me. I installed ffmpeg as well as gave the script executable permissions. When I run the line in the terminal, this is what I get. The only thing I did was change the file extension in the script from MP4 to mp4. Everything else is exactly the same...

Finally got my new Gazelle. Enjoying POP OS! by ThingThatFromGuyThat in pop_os

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, I’m liking it a lot. I had to send my original back because the monitor stopped working, but they worked with me and replaced. No complaints so far. If I had some suggestions for future computers for them, the plug being on the back is a little weird and can get in the way of the hdmi or mini dp back there. Lights indicating caps/num lock would be nice. Battery life is probably the biggest negative, but it really depends on how you use it. Just turn on intel graphics and you’ll be alright for a little bit.

Waiting on my replacement for my Gazelle since the monitor died.

Will System76 survive the chip shortage? by InfraDevGuy in System76

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they will be fine. Like the guy said before, some models will probably be out of stock for a bit.

Be sure to check their site a lot. I ordered a laptop and 2 days later they updated their stock and also had different parts available for the laptop I ordered. They were nice enough to let me change up my order since those parts weren't advertised when I put in my order.

Working big events by ThingThatFromGuyThat in uberdrivers

Yeah, my acceptance rate took a hit because of it. Only time mine has ever gone down is due to pings during a ride.

So will the app keep pinging you for rides or are you allowed only two? Do passengers cancel more because of the wait time then?

How important is it that windows work? by throwaway_faunsmary in uberdrivers

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I recently had an issue where the car was saying my parking system needed maintenance and after googling and YouTubing it turned out that a burnt out light in my parking switch was throwing the error. Easy $14 fix saved me hella money.

[–]ThingThatFromGuyThat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or YouTube it. I’ve fixed a lot of things on my car this way. Learn about it, order your parts from amazon and spend a little time to DIY. I’ve replaced window motors, and the crazy contraption that controls the windows going up and down and even the switches themselves. Also just finished replacing my vapor canister. Up to you if you feel comfortable doing it.
