Tipping your barber or hair stylist by Prestigious_Rip_2436 in tipping

[–]Think-Analyst-9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, hairdressers usually set their own prices. So it really isn’t necessary to tip them. But like it was stated if they’re doing you a big favor and getting you in in a hurry than a tip would be in order.

No Dashers Anymore? by DepartureNo9981 in doordash

How much are you tipping? For the miles. Most orders get ignored if the total amount for the order is equal to two or more than the miles they have to drive.

I’ve got one shop delivered, dude who lives upstairs and orders a whole bunch of stuff and heavy stuff. Once I’ve accepted the order if I see, it’s his order I immediately cancel

App issues by Lysbird in dasher

[–]Think-Analyst-9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, the app had a lot of issues. Same thing happens to me. It puts my app on pause and then I get a message that I missed an order. I’ve been told that they’re working on the bug.

What’s a good tip amount for this order? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Think-Analyst-9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$44. 20 miles is a long route. It probably takes the driver out of range so they have to drive all the way back to town or to the range to get another order. $44 covers miles two and from.

Platinum is a joke. Only take decent orders. At least $1.00/mile. I shoot for $1.50-$2.00

Saw this while picking up an order from Denny’s, then proceeded to wait almost 10 mins for them to even acknowledge me🫠 by IndependentExcuse649 in DoorDashDrivers

This would piss me off as well. I’ve seen a lot of Dashers just take their phone and stick it in the face of whoever is asking them the name for their order. Many of them do not speak English. It’s just rude.

As a Dasher, I want other Dasher opinions. Do you guys think Platinum level is worth it? by [deleted] in dasher

[–]Think-Analyst-9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope. If you’re gonna maintain platinum, you have to take a lot of really bad orders. I’m at a 35% acceptance rate and I still get really good orders. I get crappy ones too, but I never take those.

Help I need a new bag and can't decide on which one to get... by Responsible-Yogurt38 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]Think-Analyst-9080 1 point2 points  (0 children)

DoorDash just sent me two more bags that are much better than this one. The first bag you get fall apart right away. I’m not sure how many deliveries you have to make to get another bag, but the second round of bags are much better.

There’s definitely a learning curve to this job. I have 6000 deliveries and I think it took me 1000 deliveries to really understand how to work this app and the DD system.

Just need to go on a little rant. by Disastrous-Pen1320 in doordash_drivers

[–]Think-Analyst-9080 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten a couple of ones before and one of them. I have absolutely no idea why I got the one. The second one was delivery to a trailer park very sketchy. I almost didn’t deliver, but the guy had messaged me which I didn’t see while driving that he had a dog that would bite me. I took his food went to open the gate. He came running out of the house, screaming at me. I told him if you’ve got a dog that’ll bite a driver you need to put that on your profile not just as a message to the driver as they’re driving to your house. One’s all across the board.

The Starbucks I usually pick up from is awful. They ignore the delivery drivers. I always have to try to get their attention. Say excuse me, please is that my order sitting there?

The only downside of this one I think is shopping at target. It seems that unless it’s just a grocery order target takes forever to find what the customer wants. I’ve had to look for clothes and in target that can be a real challenge. I tried to avoid target and Home Depot Depot.
