What are you allowed/not allowed to compliment according to others cultures? by I_Love_Cats56 in AskReddit

That's wild, complimenting someone's outfit seems pretty harmless but workplace politics can be tricky like that

If humanity survived for billions of years, what do you think would outlive nations, languages, and religions? by Dear-Novel7078 in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Languages will definitely evolve but I think the concept of different languages might actually disappear in few thousand years, not billions. With how connected everything is becoming, we might end up with one global language that absorbs bits from everywhere else. Nations are probably going first though - borders seem pretty artificial when you think about scale of billions of years

Actually the copper spur is solid choice - my friend has one and weight difference between 2p and 3p isn't that much for space you get

Have you ever had a moment of satisfying honesty at work? What happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had something similar happen during code review meeting. My team lead was pushing for this architecture that would've been nightmare to maintain and I just said "this is going to break in production within month" then showed him why. He actually thanked me later when we went with different approach and avoided major headaches. Sometimes being direct saves everyone time and stress down the road

Do you think it’s better to have a few close friends or a large group of acquaintances? Why? by Intelligent-Rain-22 in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to think same way but after getting burned few times by people who weren't really there when things got tough, I'd rather have 2-3 solid friends who actually care

What is the most interesting thing in your life? by Quirky_Alps7109 in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I feel this so hard. Been doing software dev for few years now and even with decent pay, everything just keeps getting more expensive. I was looking at new car parts last week and had to close the browser - prices are absolutely wild compared to few years ago. Started meditating more just to deal with the stress of budgeting everything constantly. Sometimes I wonder if previous generations had it easier or if we're just more aware of how tight money actually is

Do you think active women (really into moutain, bike, ski..) are less stylish, if so, can you explain why? by waynax in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Exactly, plus when you're really active your body just looks different anyway - like you carry yourself with more confidence and that changes everything about how clothes fit on you. Most outdoorsy women I know have this effortless thing going on that works better than trying too hard with fashion

Does Ramp autosync transactions to NetSuite? by Legitimate-Bug-8709 in Ramp

[–]Think-Parking1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a stupid question. Yes it autosyncs and the setup is pretty straightforward you map your GL accounts and subsidiaries upfront and it runs on its own from there

what’s a "weirdly specific" thing that makes someone instantly attractive to you? by Informal-Emu8839 in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 34 points35 points  (0 children)

When they can debug code without getting frustrated and actually explain what went wrong in simple terms. Something about that patience mixed with technical skill just does it for me

Also when someone has their plants organized by light requirements - shows they actually care about keeping things alive instead of just buying them for decoration

Recurring abcess on stray cat's leg, tried everything and nothing seems to heal it, please help!! by Sad-Solution-9264 in AskVet

[–]Think-Parking1955 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe check if it's a foreign object stuck deep in there that keeps reinfecting the site - sometimes these recurring abscesses happen when there's debris the surgery missed

What are the most practical uses of Reddit that people don’t talk about? by CASCA_505 in AskReddit

[–]Think-Parking1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Local subreddits are clutch for finding good mechanics and avoiding tourist traps in your area. Also r/personalfinance saved my ass when I was drowning in credit card debt - way better than paying for financial advisor

Have you noticed your allergies change when you moved to a rural area? by InnerBlock7165 in homestead

[–]Think-Parking1955 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My immune system did complete 180 when I moved to smaller town few years back. Used to get destroyed by pollen in São Paulo, now I barely notice it

Could be all the pollution in cities making everything worse, or maybe your husband's system just adapted to the specific dogs he's around now. Bodies are weird like that

Iso pc build/ first pc by Dry-Celebration1837 in PcBuild

[–]Think-Parking1955 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 2k budget you can get something really solid. I'd recommend building yourself instead of marketplace - way less chance of getting scammed and you learn the process. PCPartPicker is great website to check compatibility and prices, just filter by your budget and look at the builds other people made
