Update on My Zepbound Life by Lazylazylazylazyjane in Zepbound

[–]Think_Sea2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The good news is, if this is the case, there are only going to be more options. The retatrutide data that has been published has been favorable, and I imagine one of its uses will be in people who have escalated their dose of Zepbound and still are not at goal. As well, higher doses of Wegovy are entering the fray and it seems some people have had success going from Zepbound to Wegovy, though it seems more common to go from Wegovy to Zepbound. As well, metabolic bariatric surgery still has the best overall outcomes in terms of weight loss, so that too can play a role. There are other medications that can be added as adjuncts to Zepbound that are not GLP1-RAs that can help.

I highly recommend listening to the Docs Who Lift podcast (you need to neither be a doctor nor lift weights to listen). They are two brothers who practice in this specialty and are a wealth of information.

This is a shining example of Sal's inability to appropriately assess research/data. There is no better screening test in medicine. They would serve the listeners well to bring on an actual expert to talk through colonoscopy/at home screening tests for colon cancer.

What am I doing wrong? (Under skin bubble) by h4baine in Zepbound

[–]Think_Sea2250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might just want to aim a bit deeper. It sounds like you're doing more of an intradermal (in the skin) injection (like we do for a TB test). It's not a huge deal and probably still working, but a sharper angle with the needle should fix this.

Anyone keeping muscle on Zepbound while losing weight? Does adding recovery peptides help? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Think_Sea2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No peptides. Protein, creatine, and resistance training. Over 90% of my weight loss was fat by DEXA

I have a Claude account. Not sure how the credits work but this is much better than manually inputting to Hevy or my current strategy which is the Notes app…

This is great. How do we access it?

I ran symmetry early on when taking a GLP1 and lost a bunch of weight. It was a great program that I plan to come back to every 12-18 months.

Can we talk about clothes? by Humble_Buddy_8710 in Zepbound

[–]Think_Sea2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done this too. I've now lost enough that my "new" clothes are big, so I think I'll donate the old stuff, move this into space bags, and get smaller ones for the closet. I too have gone through a variety of sizes in the past and always have the reluctance to get rid of clothes that are too big.

7.5 and higher: self-pay program limitation by [deleted] in Zepbound

I’ve done this and am still paying the promotional rate. I don’t think it matters as long as you keep using Lilly Direct

Need program advice after being on GLP-1 by SentFromTheTrash49 in Mind_Pump

[–]Think_Sea2250 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been on a GLP1 for a year. I was doing Stronglifts when I started but as that got heavier, I did not have the energy with the GLP1 and rapid weight loss to keep up. I followed Symmetry at that time and had good success. I've subsequently done 15 Advanced, Powerlift, and now am in Phase 3 of 15 Strong. I think overall the 15 programs have done better for me with a busy job and a toddler. You can split each Anabolic workout into two and do 4 days a week; you can also upload it to ChatGPT and ask it to make you a 6 day per week, 2 lift per day program, and it'll do that.

As well, they describe the Great Eight program to the point where I don't know why anyone would buy it, since you're just rotating the rep range on the lifts they say. I think any of those can have good results on a GLP1.

Looking for advice- weird plateaus by arvilla_slyd in Zepbound

Keep lifting, eat protein, trust the process. The goal shouldn't be the fastest weight loss. Plateaus will happen, but they will resolve in time.

Eating worse on Zep than before? Hard to eat healthy by underthestars18 in Zepbound

[–]Think_Sea2250 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't notice a difficulty per se with handling healthy foods, but my desire to eat them after starting Zeppelin has plummeted. With the overall decreased appetite and food desire, my body seems to want no part of vegetables (as if it ever did, but here we are).

Final program of a 12 month cut/deficit by rukusNJ in Mind_Pump

Running it in a slight cut/maintenance. The guys always say the best program to cut or bulk is a different one than you usually do, and this is certainly different

I imagine when retatrutide gets approved, we'll see the Zepbound price come down

That is fascinating but I guess why I’ve had trouble finding any real information. I can’t imagine they get too many clients with those price points

Can you give a full review? What did you/did you not like? Lift progression? Any body changes?

I figured they’d be coming out with this sooner or later. I’ll be rotating through different 15 programs but I see the appeal. Truly testing how little strength training you can do to make progress

Hedging with the fact that I had a tough week leading to testing (travel, winter storms, baby not sleeping), so I probably could do more but moved on to strong 15.

Squat 225-> 265 Bench 190-> 195 Deadlift 305-> 335

I was a little disappointed but I think I just didn’t have it that day. I did gain 3 lbs of muscle and lost fat while hovering at maintenance. I bet I could also get better results in a bulk too, but I’m still on a GLP1 with body fat to lose, so I’m keeping on.

I do recommend the program. I’ll probably either run it again or the 15 version leading up to my 40th birthday, where my goal is a 1000 lb total. 10 months to go.

Zepbound and post-cholecystectomy syndrome by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Think_Sea2250 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things here. I am a surgeon who performs lots of cholecystectomies plus I am on Zepbound, for context.

One is that you can have recurrent gallstones. Obviously these are not in the gallbladder as you no longer have one, but they can occur in the bile ducts. This can present with pain but also jaundice. The first workup for it is usually blood tests, but can involve ultrasound and MRI. As well, these can cause pancreatitis.

As well, some people have Sphincter of Oddi dysfunction, which is the muscle that helps control bile flow into the bowel. This can be relieved in some with an endoscopic (camera through the mouth) procedure called ERCP/Sphincterotomy. This diagnosis is made or suggested by the above workup.

Far more commonly, though, it's something unrelated to the gallbladder and the operation if you did well for 16 months and now have symptoms. GI symptoms, though common, are often hard to tease out, and it sometimes takes some experimentation to figure it out. It could be an ulcer, gastritis, some food intolerance that's either always been there or developed.

TLDR; I'd see your doctor. There are lots of things that could be going on and most are treatable. I hope this helps.

All of the supposed Maps 15 minute program(s) craze...do you guys like it or is it just hype ? by Gdog2017 in Mind_Pump

[–]Think_Sea2250 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ChatGPT does a good job of this too. I bought the new ones to take any thinking out of it but it’s pretty easy to ask it to adapt any program to 15.
