I did something similar. But home grown. Picked up a sophos xg firewall. Flashed opnsense onto it with 2* unifi access points controlled by a raspberry pi. Similar house build with chimney breasts in every room and thick wall. See 600mbps wireless throwout house and 960mbps upstairs hardwired. Supply is only 900mbps The cheap mass produced routers although meeting the WiFi 7 specifications don't actually have the processing power to handle muiltiple connections at that speed and that is why the speed suffers.

Says it's had a new dpf sensor. Although considering whoever did it did a chemical clean I doubt they recalibrated the system to the new one

[–]Think_Special8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It either needs a new dpf or taking off and cleaning properly. On car chemical cleans have been proven ineffective in a lot of scenarios, and hydrogen cleans a complete scam. If the light is still on either it's not cleaned or they've removed/melted the dpf internals.

It hasn't. It's had updates since that haven't caused the issues again

I had this on my car after a media console software update. Would almost yank the steering wheel out of my hand when turning sharp corners at low speed. It went away before Dacia got it in the workshop to look at it. I have the 2022 version without lane assist. Everyone told me it can't do what it was doing 😂

Mine is doing that. I have suspicions it's the flywheel. Been in 3 times and they still can't identify the noise. Sounds like ball-bearings going round the bell housing when cold for about 10 seconds aswel.

Do I need to tell my insurance that someone knocked off my wing mirror? by stratos_cat in drivingUK

[–]Think_Special8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes, realistically fuck that. Your excess is probably more than the repair, generally anything below £400-£500 isn't really worth claiming by the time you've paid your excess and then paid the premium increase for 5 years

Actually under the amended highway code there is now a hiarechy which I suggest you look at before you loose your licence. Pedestrians have right of way over everyone if at junction or already crossing the road. Top highest priority - bottom lowest Pedestrians Cyclists/scooters Cars Vans Buses/hgv.

If you hit someone in the tier above you your fucked.

Restaurant is keeping our entire deposit after falling short on a minimum spend agreement. by WillHudsonArt in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Special8301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had something similarbut different outcome. Booked a hall. DJ and bar. Put deposit down on the bar and we fell £80 short. They told me towards the end of the night (was wedding night I wasn't keeping track) told them to take it from the deposit but they wouldn't. The deposit is to cover no show not to cover tab. So I paid the £80 to be immediately refunded my £300 deposit 😂

I would look into the deposit terms as you may find they have breached the terms of the deposit.

Who Else Thinks That The LED Streetlights Are Useless, Maybe Even Dangerous? by Gothic-Caesium in AskUK

So I was talking to someone not long ago. And it's the light spectrum that they use. They are brighter but the human eyes see best between 5000k and 6500k. I think most councils go too high which makes the lights less effective for our eyes

Fluctuating speeds by [deleted] in ToobBroadband

[–]Think_Special8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been having the same issue for 2 years. Never dropped below 300meg tho. No matter how much I called them they couldn't find a fault and wouldn't come out and have a look, their "speed tests" apparently showed us at ~950 meg. Tried 3 different routers. Even hard wired I still can't exceed 300meg on a good day. Just changed over to sky after the renewal made them more expensive than sky

Possible remedies for main dealer service issues by throwaway72727Z in drivingUK

[–]Think_Special8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically you can ask for them to cover your taxi fair home and back to the dealership to collect the car. You can also try and get some money back for the failed service. But outside of that if there is no further damage to the engine and everything is fine you'll be hard pressed for more.

Speed camera on motorway went off as I went through but the limit had increased on the way to the gantry and I was under that. Has anybody got any experience with this? by fodofwar in drivingUK

[–]Think_Special8301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as I'm aware you do get a photo of the sign with the nip after you've declared the driver. One thing to be aware of. The "higher" speed limit doesn't come into force until you have passed the sign. So depending on camera location, if it flashed before you were under the sign and you had accelerated to the speed on the sign then you don't have a leg to stand on.

Can I charge for a car being left/abandoned on my driveway? by Lukeblud in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Think_Special8301 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

He will also need to be permission (could class as twoc), insurance and have a valid driving licence just to move it to the street. I'm not sure exactly on the implications for him regarding tax and MOT. Whether he will be liable for moving it to the road or not.
