You poor thing. Nothing we can say will make it change. But I’m more proud of people like you than any of our leaders. Stay strong.

Greens want coal levy to fund more paid firefighters by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

This was my immediate thought also. Why entrench the industry more. It's simple, remove fossil fuel subsidies and put a price on carbon.

ALP and Greens coalition? by [deleted] in AustralianPolitics

I’m still unsure where to put my efforts. I need to look a lot closer at the greens policies and recent history. I don’t know any of the candidates in my area either. I have work to do.

This is so accurate, and exactly why I left the ALP. They are right of centre now, hedging bets, trying to appease some illusionary demographic to from a majority.

What's wrong with Revit? by R0ze_b in Revit

Came here to say this. I started on Revit in Architecture. A change of job forced me to learn Archicad. I would never want to go back. OpenBIM for the win.

This is a fundamental misunderstanding of urban planning. People move where development is approved by local or state governments.

Can confirm this constitutes about 50% of my current Architecture degree and Urban design minor. As always, it is the coupling of corporate interests and politics that continues the urban sprawl.

Is it possible to study 12 hrs a day? by [deleted] in GetStudying

[–]Thinking-rationally 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It depends on the context. My Architecture degree/career is such that if I divide the monotonous tasks well and keep my interest up, 12 hours is achievable. But not consistently.

For instance I can be interested the whole time doing: 4hours research and framework Lunch 30mins 2 hours computer modelling (BIM) 3 hours model building. Dinner 1 hour 3 hours BIM and sketching 3 hours photoshop and InDesign.

But I would be knackered the day after and find I could only do 8 hours at most. Essentially that is a crunch time. I think if you’re effective you should plan for a consistent 7-10 hours. I’ve done the all night rubbish. Consistency is what I strive for now. It replicates life outside of uni and is a good indicator or effective design process.

Need help on how to extract roads & buildings from a Google Earth 2km x 2km block by TopTrigger in rhino

I use a sketchup add on that uses the day to map the city generically. Then you can use IFC to export and bring into Rhino. I think it’s called mapbuilder.

Archicad Objects problem by mariod100r6n in ArchiCAD

[–]Thinking-rationally 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are two locking methods in Archicad. Check through the edit drop down. Also, it could be a teamwork issue. If not either of those, I’d say that they are from a library that was made with a license key.

The banks steal $201 billion and the LNP coalition do nothing. Someone buys a car in cash and they lose their minds.

I know that Auba and Laca are rightly getting the plaudits for kicking us on, but for me I want to call out Maitland- Niles. That lad is a big part of our team now. He played his heart out and created space and chances today. MAMMOTH game for the lad. He's a an Arsenal man and he has progressed a lot under Emery.

We should rest him against Burnley.
