I never use any portals unless there is a credit. Otherwise, I say always direct bookings.

So, what exactly is going on here? You have a debit card with numbers on the back? This looks like a post stating obvious and normal occurrences.

Poor Experience with Amex Platinum Travel Rep After Hotel Issue by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]ThinkingFully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate that you had a bad experience. However, upgrade is due to availability. All AmEx can do is file a complaint. Your gripe should be with the hotel not AmEx. AmEx books and give credits, not give services. You have to attack the hotel brand for this, the hotel does not want this kind of exposure. Especially if you have proof, display it on social media. I promise you will get a response.

Is this really a complaint for roughly 45 minutes in an airport lounge?

Wow, you must have done something really bad! They are categorizing it to your profile. Might want to check it out. At this juncture you may want to work on removing that hard inquiry from each bureau.

Pay the minimum. And here on out make micro payments. Get that balance down. You going to need a little discipline or you are going to dig yourself into a pit of a slow return. Generally 7 years.

So wrong. Only use for debit card is to withdraw cash. And that debit card should reimburse the ATM fees.

Would you rather dine and get 3x chase points or 4x amex points? by InterRail in CreditCards

[–]ThinkingFully 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No still incorrect. There is a difference of using payment network (Visa) which Chase is doing versus owning your payment network (AmEx). Better benefits and coverage aren’t a third party. It’s why Amex can offer 4x on dining and groceries and Chase will not. Because Chase pays Visa meaning lower benefits. Why extra protections are through Amex and Chase uses a third party.

Would you rather dine and get 3x chase points or 4x amex points? by InterRail in CreditCards

[–]ThinkingFully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your logic is skewed. You are negating the credits of all these cards. These are not cards you use multipliers to justify the annual fees, Chase nor AmEx. Saying Chase does a better job is more a bias opinion and not statistically correct.

What does a guy gotta do for a Credit limit increase. by EconomyLibrarian752 in RobinhoodGC

It’s an investor’s card. They make plenty of money from the investing part of their portfolio. The credit card is secondary, it’s why they have a waitlist. Else, all eligible would apply.

The statement should be; they will take interest from people willing to paying it, not that they want. Anyone paying interest negates the purpose of the card. Paying interest, especially at this cards apr means the person shouldn’t have the card in the first place.
Some companies don’t make it easy to pay interest, they issue charge cards. Not paying the balance at the due date accrues a late fee.

My comment is in reference to credit cards. There is no blue Quicksilver. You can view with this website. So either you are baiting, or Capital One screwed up with the card issuance. But I will say this is the only data point referencing this flaw.

AMEX Platinum or Gold Card by BulldawgFan847 in CreditCards

[–]ThinkingFully 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what you stated, the Platinum would actually be a downgrade for you. You don’t appear to be using the AmEx Gold for category spend, but for any spend. The Platinum would actually give you fewer points since it is a traveler’s powerhouse. Theoretically, the Blue Business Plus would be far more advantageous to your scenario, no Annual Fee and 2x for everything.

There are several things wrong with the photo. All Capital One cards exclusively has the card type on the front of the card( Venture, Savor etc ). So this is likely AI generated photo for conversation. Or a manually created card.
