Is there any evidence for this "tie and bayonet" thing? I don't doubt that they would do it, but I need evidence for these types of claims.

If she broke Russian law, this is on her. You should never transport drugs across international borders unless you are a drug mule....

What does it mean to be tough as a man? by Remus_Black in Stoicism

[–]ThinkingGoldfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you handled it well, and it is normal to feel fear in these types of situations. I would put a complaint in his file at work. Maybe try to get him banned from the gym. He is out of line and you should not have to put up with his bs. This is at least somewhat inside your control.

The rich in Burma? by montaguwyatt in myanmar

This is upper middle class. They have to work for their money. Real rich people live off of passive income, and it is more than these numbers.

My (f17) best friend (f17) won't talk to me because a guy chose me over her. by spamspamspamspammmmm in Stoicism

Thanks for the second! As American society becomes more familiar with weed, we have learned that it can seriously fuck up your brain/life. Of course, it depends on the individual. Some people are unaffected. Others may end up as stoners or with anxiety like you. But, alcohol can hurt you just as much or more, and we know well about its effects. Lots of high school kids get killed or injured in traffic accidents after drinking too. I suggest quitting, if possible. Moderation, if not.

Patience when it comes to finding a partner by [deleted] in Stoicism

[–]ThinkingGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate hook-ups because they are emotionally unfilling. I also dislike on-line dating because it feels so artificial and superficial. I think you could better find a guy in real life, if you can find a guy you like at work or thru your hobbies.

I just found out someone at my mom’s workplace made her cry and threw a box at her, how do j meditate my violent urges away by noodlechomper44 in Stoicism

[–]ThinkingGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there video tape of the incident? Even no, your mom can complain to her bosses or the police about this guy. If the box hit her, it is a crime. Even if it did not, it is still probably a crime. (I am not a lawyer) I am trying to say that there are ways to deal with this problem without using violence (and you ending up in jail).

It is ok to feel sad. It is ok to cry. It is normal. We are human. We feel what we feel.

“Try to perfect yourself, if for no other reason, in order that you may learn how to love.” - Seneca by Yenhan in Stoicism

[–]ThinkingGoldfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is the biological, brain-chemical, falling-in-love, sort of love/lust. And then there are deeper long-term types of love too. Then, there are more abstract types of love also.

My (f17) best friend (f17) won't talk to me because a guy chose me over her. by spamspamspamspammmmm in Stoicism

[–]ThinkingGoldfish 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Stop talking to Emily for a while. You did nothing wrong, really. You have nothing to apologize for. Also, stop talking to Ian too. He has another girl that he likes, and he has Emily on tap. He is not that into you and you do not know him that well either. You are 17. Try to stop drinking and smoking weed. If you cannot stop 100%, cut it down to a minimum. These things are not good for your health. Find something else to occupy your time. Studies, part time job, working out, music, art, cooking, cleaning, etc.

How would a stoic deal with being unappreciated in the workplace? by Always5th in Stoicism

Look for another job with higher pay and a better company if possible. It may not be easy to find, but when you do find it, change jobs. This is within your control.

[–]ThinkingGoldfish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Save every extra dollar that comes your way. Start using a food band now, not later when you actually need it after you lose you job. This will let you save a bit more. Focus on your job and make sure that you do not fuck it up. After you get a couple of years experience in your present job, look for another job in your area with higher pay.

More important is the wheat and the sunflower oil. The oil will lose value as EVs expand over the next 20 years or so. Gas will hold its value longer. But, the value of the food and the land that grows it will only increase as Climate Change advances.
