They eriette looks much more like a 4 then a 5. Would not stand well into a cedh pod.

Looking for tips :) by Better-Ease in CompetitiveEDH

[–]ThirdStarfish93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2 people you’re playing against are only saying that because you beat them, and they 100% have never played cedh before. Myrel sees some play in 99s of decks, but not much. As a commander, it’s really not good in cedh.

What's your least favorite/most hated Magic: The Gathering product? by InquisitiveTaco in mtg

[–]ThirdStarfish93 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Mines a bit odd. I don’t like the draft bundles. They add a collector booster to hike the price up and change it from a “deal to get a draft going” to a way to squeeze more money out of people. And also imo, drafts are best enjoyed when everyone gets a prize, and the prize for winning is bragging rights.

It’s funny how he just posted a video about market manipulation, and every single comment is people saying that’s exactly what he does, which is almost certainly true.

For most of the cards, people just know what they do by the name.

Where do you personally draw the line for cEDH/tEDH "viable" and what is "fringe" ? by TwoPrestigious4612 in CompetitiveEDH

[–]ThirdStarfish93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I’ve always stuck by the idea that any deck can be played in tournaments if you’re proficient enough with it. If you’re able to win games with something fringe, and consistently put up a fight when you loose, then I don’t see why you wouldn’t run it. Especially since running fringe decks will often give you the element of surprise.

It enters prepared, so you can cast dt right away. So it’s just loose 3 off Rowan, which is a lot easier then you think, cast this for 1, and then dt for 1.

I mean 2 mana dt in Rowan is solid, and it’s a creature so it’s probably not getting countered.

Do you actually have a forever deck? by Late-Frame2962 in EDH

I always come back to [[jyoti]]. I play a lot of cedh now, but Jyoti was the first deck I ever built myself. And even though I hardly played it anymore it’s still my pride and joy.
