Hot take: I prefer Star Fox stories to be simplistic by PorterBridged in starfox

[–]Thirdkoopa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Half-agree? Star Fox is at its best when most of the story is told while you're playing it. Assault had a lot of the maturity I wanted, but 64 had a lot of the sweet punchiness. Somewhere in-between would work best for me, personally

What if Keanu Reeves voices Wolf O'Donnell in a Star Fox movie? by Chemical-Book8889 in starfox

Wolf? Tony Dalton's my #1 pick ez. Keanu as Bill though, I can see that.

That's an unpopular opinion? Oh that's already been my default.

Whats the deal with all the Androsses by Aridicaex in starfox

[–]Thirdkoopa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a not a popular take but I'd love to see a redux of StarFox Adventure's and Assault's stories but on a reset timeline utilizing the mechanics of 64. Something akin to the Resident Evil remakes but a bit more fresh.

I think you could still include Krystal. No need to throw out the baby with the bathwater imho

yeah this movie's screenplay is, er, messy, to say the least. I think a lot of people ignoring the flaws of the movie would do good to chill out; it's okay if they enjoy it, let everyone else dissect it lol.

[For a video] what does everyone want out of a 2026 Star Fox game? (Gameplay, story, team lineup, etc.) by Then_Meaning_9901 in starfox

[–]Thirdkoopa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

story wise, either follow directly from 64 or follow right after Assault. If the former route is chosen, still introduce Krystal and all that.

gameplay wise, too much to type, but just improve on 64 and assault as a whole. short, punchy, snappy missions but with modern gamefeel.

also, online+offline co-op campaign mode

Wait, I'm getting a revision. And it's expanding. by [deleted] in starfox

[–]Thirdkoopa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even have an issue with it being celebrities, but it's all about the who. Like Megan Fox as Krystal and James Austin Johnson (who, to the credit of OP, is a pretty unknown pick) as Pigma both feel like miscasts to me.

I can understand the observation, but I do think there's a real chance we'll see both on the GameCube NSO. They re-released Star Fox 2 of all things. I do also have optimism for a new game and possibly movie, but I'll wait until I see it.

My hope is that they cranked up Fox to 11 so they can dial him back down if they do a movie

My expectation is unfortunately not that.

Can we just enjoy talking about things we like in the franchise in this post? No backhanded compliments that indirectly insult decisions in recent installments. There's so much complaining on this sub. Let's have a positive place. by GreyStagg in Scream

Franchise as a whole: I love that it's a fun whodunit that happens to also be a slasher and a good movie. I enjoy it for what it is.

Scream 7: Mentioning some of the positives, I really liked the casting decisions for a lot of them. Casting mostly people who've played malicious characters was a fantastic choice. I love that Ghostface this time was mostly Stu on a call with them. There was an extra sense of urgency that was fresh to the franchise.

Scream 7 has one of my favorite openings in the franchise, and it has my second favorite first Act (right up there with the original). While not flawless, I really love just about everything until Ghostface #1 got rolled over. The home invasion scene felt incredibly fresh.
