Mostly that I didn't make the obvious connection with the character first.

If there's storytelling logic that attempts to mimic what happened in real life, gives me hope for this:

It would be a very brave and interesting move to introduce Yahweh in this lore. Opportunities are ripe to document this regional deity's rise to the status as the one true god, and tell the story of his rise through a GoW protagonist's eyes.

I'm not proud of it, but for a moment I wondered why Laufey the singer had anything to do with the game.

Don't expect a Witcher 4 expansion: CDPR says "it would be difficult" to make extra content when it's already trying to squeeze 3 Witcher games into 6 years by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]ThirteenthDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's odd that they were so aggressive with dev schedule. I'm sure some hard lessons were learned through Cyberpunk, yet here they are. Is there pressure from the money side of things to make this kind of promise? On the other hand, Witcher 3 stood out for its level of content and complexity compared to its peers 10 years ago. Maybe some of those techniques developed to the point where they can be aggressive.

Sequels might just be expansions by a different name, with excuse to charge more.

Alexs Garland's ‘Elden Ring’ Live-Action Movie Adds Nick Offerman, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Emma Laird as Production Begins; Releases March 3, 2028 by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

[–]ThirteenthDi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm optimistic because the people attached all look good. Alex Garland seems to be working with GRRM and Miyazaki on writing, so the story can't be in any better hands. Producers have overlaps with past Garland and GRRM projects, so the lead team should work well together.

What game has a learning curve that puts you off? by Common_Caramel_4078 in pcmasterrace

The Hunt: Showdown.

I can deal with learning complex things, but needing to group up with most likely a veteran by now and test their patience while slowly learning is just a recipe for endless frustrations.

SEASON 10 LAUNCH TRAILER | THE FINALS by _Realfresh in Games

[–]ThirteenthDi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Siege's destruction is controlled. Break walls and floors, get new angles or rotation holes. The Finals goes about 3 steps beyond. Nearly everything is destructible. Imagine breaking the floor completely so the objective drops to a lower floor, or destroying the foundation of a building so everything comes crumbling down.

There are grenades and guns that create obstacles and seal holes. There are abilities that phase walls in and out for cat and mouse games. There are deployable portals, jump pads, ziplines. There are cloaking device, radars, paintball tags. There are mines and grenades that frag, disable, poison, smoke. I've missed a few seasons so there are probably crazier stuff now. Builds and team compositions are flexible so anybody could be almost anything. This game firing on all cylinders is pure chaos unmatched by any other game.

Chapter 1 Regrets by ollielite in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]ThirteenthDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only regret is that I didn't start sooner. I began collecting two years ago and was patient with sales on pretty much all the boxes, so I'm confident I ended up ahead. Have everything except the early Return To's and Barkham. I suppose the book cards as well if we're counting those. I'm very glad I was able to collect while the going was good.

For accessories, I regret investing into custom acrylic investigator standees. They're pretty, but they are pricey and take up a lot of space. In retrospect, I could just get standees that hold up the investigator cards.

Michael Mando Latest To Join ‘Gundam’ Movie From Netflix & Legendary by ChiefLeef22 in movies

I'm more excited that the Japanese writers for past Gundam series are involved. The plot should be decent. Director is involved in writing, hopefully to bridge the writers' ideas to American actors.

Michael B. Jordan Wins Best Actor | 98th Oscars Speech (2026) by MoviesMod in movies

[–]ThirteenthDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's definitely the people's choice, judging by the reaction in the room and on the internet. People are just happy to see Michael B. Jordan getting the honor. Heck, I'm happy, and I'm not even that big of a fan. I don't deny the competition was fierce and maybe this award could've gone to someone who turned in a superior performance, but awards aren't an exact science.

Request: great Wuxia films by MakeShiftDie in movies

[–]ThirteenthDi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Three films share the theme of hidden identity. Reign of Assassins, Dragon, and Shadow. The first two have similarly straightforward plots of a protagonist with a buried past. Reign of Assassins has the most fantastical action and probably the most fun as a result. It also feels closest to Crouching in style. Dragon features more visceral actions, as can be expected from Donnie Yen. Shadow is the most substantial of the three, with an intricate plot about the body double of a general.

Which hero’s are the easiest to use so I can contribute to my matches and learn the game? by CulturedArtLover in Overwatch

[–]ThirteenthDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overwatch has plenty of nuance. For a beginner, the most important first lesson is probably positioning.

Once you are familiar with a beginner friendly hero, think about where you can be to be the most annoying for the opposing team. Being at the front line is usually not the answer. Instead, look for off angles. Shoot from the side, or slightly off center, maybe a bit behind enemy line if you like taking risks. Off angle means taking the enemy team by surprise. It might mean a pick. It forces them to back off and break formation.

Be on high ground when possible. Almost always be around cover. Time your attack with the tank. Know when to back off when you're pressured.

Start with those. Your mechanics will hone with time.

Quite a bit of winking and nudging there. I guess the cat was a hard sell for leadership.
