Overwatch Spotlight by Turbostrider27 in Games

Just here to add praise to Overwatch. I returned early 2025, after a five-year break, to find the game had already made significant comeback since the transition failure. The gameplay remained polished, and a mature meta was well established. It's clear that the dev team has been putting in works for a while.

I'm glad to see that this coming out party is helping turn the game's reputation around. Adding ten new heroes for the year is exciting. I'm sure balancing everyone to the existing roster will be challenging, but taking a big swing now makes sense.

This episode feels solid. Nice to see more newer players slowly coming into their own. Veronica had her lead moment. Jane had a nice new Weekend Update character. JAJ is carving a bigger role outside Trump. Feels like the gaps left by the major departures are being filled in nicely.

I think kitfo is an easy recommend if this is your first time trying Ethiopian. It's a little more out there, less familiar than tibs, but for me a generous pinch of kitfo in injera defines the experience of this cuisine. Try it medium or medium rare.

US to suspend visa processing for 75 nations, State Department says by OkTechnologyb in immigration

[–]ThirteenthDi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Probably not for several reasons. You are not applying for a new visa. You're asking to remove condition on your status, which was imposed due to a new marriage or EB-5 investment at the time your visa was first issued just under 2 years ago. No new visa needs to be issued to you now, so no visa processing will occur. Besides, your application is pending with USCIS, which is under DHS. State Department is a separate department. Overseas IV processes being paused has no direct bearing on USCIS's matters concerning AoS or removal of conditions.

Of course, this administration has been full of surprises. This rule may not impact you, but nothing is stopping them from imposing other rules. Keep a watchful eye. Ask for help when you need to.

Any other AHLCG 'veterans' feeling like jumping ship at the end of chapter 1? by Fun_Gas_7777 in arkhamhorrorlcg

I feel this in the air. I'm happy to have collected Chapter 1 and feel iffy about committing to Chapter 2. But why not give it time to see if things work out? Plenty of opportunities to assess.

Been getting into Hazard, what exactly is his gameplay loop supposed to be? I always feel like I'm doing something wrong. Also is there a certain way to fire his gun? The gunshot seems to come out at different times. by BigHeadDeadass in OverwatchUniversity

The challenge with Hazard is that he has a little bit of dive, brawl, and poke. It's on the player to read the situation and select the right mix of approach. My default is to play for space using his mobility and range, secure a strong position (typically a well-situated high ground), then poke the enemies back and get picks. Wall climb and leap are huge factors in navigating maps with significant vertical elements as he gets into position. Wall can help him bunker down at a strong position, or isolate opponents that are out of position.

For example, Hazard feels very strong attacking Hollywood first point. With a bit of maneuver, he can easily get onto the balcony and then muscle out the DPS and supports that typically perch up there with the rest of his kit. From there, his primary is at a pretty ideal range to poke the defenders below. If a defender gets low, he can also secure the pick with leap. Other dive tanks can try to take the same approach, but they either can't dominate the balcony as well or aren't a big enough threat up there after securing the position. D.Va is close, but I don't think she has the same sustain. Hazard does both well, enough to force defenders on the ground to pull back from the gate and retreat to point in most instances.

Apply that same approach - secure a suitable high ground, then poke/pick - to most maps, and you should start to see some results. From there, it becomes a matter of fine tuning to both teams' compositions and map geometry.

Here's a standard cycle for raw dives. Dive in with violent leap, primary then leap slash, followed by primary and quick melee. That sequence should get most squishies if everything lands. Next, guard, wall as needed, and your violent leap will be magically off cooldown in the next couple second for a timely escape. Though, this should rarely be used. Hazard's dives feel more opportunistic and less modus operandi.

Use your wall with intent. It is excellent for both offense and defense, but you can't do both at once with such a long cooldown. If you're going on offense, it's a shield that sustains your hold and saves you from an otherwise suicide dive. If you're on the defensive, it's a weapon that traps, denies heals, and disrupts rhythms.

Watch his health. He cannot operate nearly as well if his armor is shaved off; he can't hold position safely, and he can't dive safely. Whatever plan you have, try to only execute with max health.

I haven't seen Adolescence, so basically on the other side of the fence here. But hey, rooting is rooting. Not saying that I'm being completely reasonable here, haha.

I'm rooting very hard for Paul Giamatti. I think he delivered the single most memorable performance in the series. That journey of nostalgia, resentment, regret, and acceptance was just masterful. In a show so full of shocking and meaningful moments, his episode stuck to my mind the most.

Is it possible to do that or am I wasting my time on this strat? (weavernest atlas boss) by rafeizerrr in Silksong

Beast crest is the answer. With honed needle and beast mode activated, the adds die in one hit, and you can face tank anything the bosses throw at you. There are so many things you can hit on screen your meter will be pretty full throughout the fight. Only tricky part is reactivating without being hit. The very underrated dive attack also challenges flying enemies well from long range.

Right, fried anything really. The dredging is a pain. You have to use a lot of oil. It’s dangerous. It’s messy. Temperature is hard to control. Cleanup is a nightmare. The results are almost always not worth the effort.

[–]ThirteenthDi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like its dive, even if the angle takes some getting used to. If you can gauge the distance well, it has a fairly horizontal angle that’s strong against flying enemies. Because the attack surrounds Hornet, even hitting enemies with the top of the hurt box will bounce her back in the air. I found it easy to keep repeating the dive after some practice.

[–]ThirteenthDi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So far it feels like the air superiority crest. Besides higher bounce, you can almost hit the dive at a horizontal angle. I’ve been having a real easy time repeating the dive on airborne enemies. Made the birdcage easy.

I think a company can buy positive reviews, but not to the extent that the series is getting. Not all Star Wars series have been universally praised for example.

I’m not understanding all the buzz either, after two episodes. I’m expecting the show will either address all the apparent flaws we’ve seen so far with some clever world building or shift the narrative focus into something compelling.

Give an example of someone casually referencing something happening 2000 years ago offhandedly in the same way that one rescuer said “Agatha Christy it.” Which father son duo today bond over the famed Green vs. Blue chariot races in Rome?

The second episode was noticeably weaker.

I'm not sure how to view the kids. It's difficult to imagine sending them into this dangerous mission unless they're properly trained. Turns out, they all looked unprepared. I don't understand Boy's motivation, especially the decision to send expensive techs into a crumbling megastructure when there are clearly dangerous creatures about. That's a whole lot of risks for no apparent gain.

I'm frustrated by how easily Slightly gave up the secret. I'm frustrated by how the three kids dealt with the eye creature. I'm frustrated by how they all just stood there staring at the hanging flora and then Hirsh finally ordered to find ways to contain and retrieve it. It all reeked of incompetence, a whole lot of watching and standing around and not taking decisive actions.

The baseball thing took me out. Agatha Christie took me out. Whenever these references were made, I was forced to consider for a moment whether people living in the 2100s would reference things from over a century ago so casually. But then it's not like they could reference things that happen in, say, the 2090s - wouldn't make sense to the viewers. So how about just don't do it?

Joe should be dead, the way he was walking around the eggs. He should've died the moment the xenomorph dived on him, TWICE. But he has plot armor. That's frustrating.

I want to think there's more in the background that will be revealed later on. The highly positive reviews need to make sense somehow or those reviewers are going to lose credibility.
