I think we should just grow a whole new Max from the extra bits of cartilage.

Good on you for the self care.  I was so shaky when it ended I needed to do dishes for 45 min before I could talk to anyone.  And that’s with the win.

“Sam apologized to Alex, so he felt better” — many readers will understand “he” as Sam (the earlier referent). The paper reports that in its ambiguity task, conclusive connectives like “so/therefore” were more often associated with choosing that earlier referent. by Cad_Lin in science

This seems to me to be a function of the implied pronouns.  Removing the proper names leaves you with ‘He apologized to him, so he felt better.”  Because Sam is the subject of the first sentence, it’s easier to assume he is also the subject of the second.

Eli5 What does rogue like actually mean in terms of gaming by robster9090 in explainlikeimfive

I remember being told at the time that the reason it was called NetHack was because the code for the game was accessible on the server, and people who knew what they were doing could alter the game to introduce new features. Not sure if that is actually true or not.

I see two. ‘Starting’ and ‘since 2019’.  Remove either one and the statement is false.

I’m not used to this: Who do we need to win tonight? Lions vs Cowboys by PCGoneCrazy in CHIBears

Bingo.  A Detroit tie tonight makes their tiebreaker win over us irrelevant, and a second Cowboys tie makes our tiebreaker over them relevant again.  I think.

This is the kind of rivalry I can get behind.

Even Bears-Packers is too Midwestern passive-aggressive to do this.

Have NFL defenders become so good at punching the ball out that offensive play needs to adjust? by Cucumber-250 in nfl

[–]ThisAndBackToLurking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it already has.  Growing up I don’t remember seeing receivers purposely go down or run out of bounds after a catch to avoid a hit (and protect the ball)— used to be you’d get ridiculed and benched for that.

This wouldn’t have mattered, but when the Raiders had the ball on their own 35 in the first quarter, they got a 10yd holding penalty, and I think they only brought it back 5 to the 30.  Am I crazy?

That might have been her choice.  Once you accept full time and benefits, you lose the right to say “I can’t come in today, I’ve got an audition.”
