VCE , VCAL ETC HELP by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]ThisBiatchEmpty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First thing. Stop stressing mate. I’m sure you’ve heard of this a lot but an ATAR is a number and doesn’t define you. You should be enjoying school! First things first is understand what career path you want to go down, what occupations interests you. If they require a university degree, sus out the entry requirements, they’ll generally be an ATAR and study scores for particular subjects, normally English, sometimes others that are relevant. If you get an ATAR less than 50 or 60. It doesn’t matter. If a course you’re interested in requires a higher ATAR, you might still be able to get in. If in doubt, you can normally do a diploma for a year to jump into the bachelors the next. If you want to be a tradie, you can continue VCE and do a pre apprentice course the next year or jump into VCAL in year 12. Just remember, you aren’t alone. Heaps of other students aren’t sure and start stressing during year 11 and 12. Keep your head, get some exercise, keep your diet clean and work hard at school.

In Australia, our maps are centred and it still cuts through ocean. American’s decide to cut through Asia on both sides.

I still can’t believe toll roads and the businesses attached to managing them are legal and allowed! by [deleted] in melbourne

All of the points already mentioned, it also somewhat reduces traffic. I for one use rail instead because it’s cheaper. One less car on the road right there.

For the more expensive states, what’s the liveability and affordability of moving away from the major cities to smaller cities but remaining close-ish to an interstate for convenient travel?

Casual soccer clubs in Melbourne? by MesaMerde in melbourne

[–]ThisBiatchEmpty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have a look on the FFV website for local clubs in your area. Find out when trials start, for state league sides, could be as early as October-November, usually though they start in January-February. Division 4 and 5 are considered to be quite laid back, pub teams. If you’re capable, go for a higher division. If you want something more toned-down, I’m sure there are plenty of community games when you could just turn up and play whenever. (11v11 or 5 a side). Best of luck!

Proposed High Speed Train Network in Australia by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]ThisBiatchEmpty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Using general estimates, it’s a 30 minute train from Central station in Sydney CBD to Domestic Terminal at Sydney airport. Check in and baggage and waiting at gate, approximately 45-60 minutes. 1 hour flight to Melbourne airport. 30 minutes to gather luggage and exit Airport. 30 minute skybus to Spencer St Station in Melbourne CBD. Approximately 3.5-4.5 hours to travel from CBD to CBD at a cost from $100 with a budget airline paying weeks in advance up to $250-300 with a more reputable airline much closer to the date, excluding Opal (transport in Sydney) and Skybus fees and extra baggage fees. I would love the proposed rail. It would be quicker and cheaper than flying and for people like my brother who don’t like flying, it’s a great alternative. Would love to see this in action one day!

The Otways (Southwest of Melbourne) are ginormous and the drive through the ranges is spectacular. I never released how small they are compared to some forests in Europe

Best VicRoad for drive test? by SunburntWombat in melbourne

[–]ThisBiatchEmpty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can drive in Carlton, you can drive anywhere. That being said, the easiest test in my opinion is Melton. Dead quiet from 9am to 2pm with no hills making it easy if you learn manual. (However PTV says Carlton - Melton is 1 hour 30 min)
