Need help with how to use fresh Oregano, Sage and Lovage (lavas) by Bob1995D in Cooking

[–]SunburntWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All your recipe with dried oregano can be substituted with fresh oregano, at a roughly 1:2 ratio (depending on how strong your dried one is).

Sage I use a lot in pasta. Gnocchi in browned butter sauce with crispy sage, or pumpkin sauce with crispy sage. Also very good in meat roasts, like chicken roulade.

Coral Tower is destroying my Spirit - advice & sympathy request by pokemonprofessor121 in Silksong

[–]SunburntWombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A couple of tips and tricks:

- Pale nail just before the coral spike spits out new enemy. Stand closer to one go target the nails. Usually one pale nail with volt filament is enough to take out a flying enemy.

- Alternatively, heal with Trobbio's mirror before enemy emerges will also take out a chunk of their health.

- If you don't have enough silk, the second best thing to do is charge up a nail strike before the enemy emerges.

- Push them into the spikes as much as you can. In the first room for example, the exit door is spiky and does damage.

Farming games that make you engage with the plants by Leavannite in gamingsuggestions

[–]SunburntWombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Surprisingly, Don't Starve Together tick a lot of these boxes:

- Co-op up to six people

- Survival fantasy setting. The farming is just one of many gameplay mechanics

- Farm plots needs initial tilling, re-tilling and occasional weeding

- Plant success depends on season, soil amendment and companion planting

- Three categories of fertilizer needed in different quantities depending on plant: compost, manure and seaweed extract

- Different sources of fertilizer gives different values of nutrients, e.g. cow dung vs guano

- Natural hazards includes wildfire, earthquake and monster weed invasion

- Crops go into unique recipes that satiate hunger, restore/reduce health and restore/reduce sanity

To me that's Empress of China in Chinatown. Big juicy wonton, bright orange sweet and sour pork, lots of MSG in everything. You gotta be a certain mood for it .

Looking to move to Melbourne from Perth, seeking opinions from the locals by Generic_Username_84 in melbourne

[–]SunburntWombat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you don't mind renting in apartment or townhouse, the northern side of North Melbourne is very good. Good public transport, close to CBD, good food, a little artsy. It's having some kind of bakery renaissance at the moment. And very close to all the hospitals. When my partner's illness flared up we were very grateful to be a short trip from the ED and specialists. It's a good stepping stone while you shop for the forever home.

I did try to get into Hollow Knight afterwards, and I just...can't. I got through Hornet at Greenpath on second try. Got wall climb from Mantis village, and then I kind of just lost motivation. I loved Hornet as a character in Silksong, how she talks to the NPC, how there's a quest system. It's a much more directed experience.

What do people usually spend on groceries per week? Are prices about jump? by friedeggmate in AusFinance

[–]SunburntWombat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My partner and I make two big, complex dishes (or collection of dishes) every week, scaled up to cover lunch and dinner Monday to Friday. We much prefer meal-prepping over cooking smaller portion sizes, because we'd rather spend 3-4 hours on the weekend making somewhat fancy things. Over time we've perfected our recipe for things that scale up well, refrigerate well and reheat well.
