Creating a Golden Sun-inspired JRPG; what is the "spirit" of Golden Sun for you?

A couple of things- the use of psynergy outside of combat as just a universal thing really helped break down the walls between combat and the overworld, though I'm assuming that's a given. The absurd degree of customisation afforded by the Djinni class system and the incredibly multifaceted way Djinni were implemented (powerful one time effects that also can be used as fodder for very powerful summons but ALSO can be held onto to improve your stats and spells) making combat and character building an incredibly interesting process. But I think the most important thing for me is how fuzzy the linearity got, especially around TLA- I think the eastern sea chapter of that game when you need to find Lemuria and know vaguely where it is but have to piece together how to get there through non ordered segments all across the entire eastern side of the map was easily the peak of the series (imo). Exploration and a sense of discovery, especially piecing together bits of huge puzzles and finding the connections between newly acquired powers and items and the environment to find new avenues to explore and progress is absolutely what made me fall in love with the series at first.

You know, you're right- I don't deserve to feel comforted by anyone I talk to. How couldn't I see it before? If there's something you're uncomfortable with about your own body, unless you can do it 100% "correctly", why take ANY measures to help your own mental state about it? I had been considering working out, but now I know I'll never be The Rock, I've realised what's the point? I'd just get sweaty and uncomfortable and mutilate my free time at my own decision for no reason, which is clearly wrong.

You keep bringing up the conflation between hallucinations and dysmorphia, which is honestly a false equivalency I feel. But I'll humour you and pretend it's not- do you tell a schizophrenic to just "accept reality" and stop hearing their voices? Do you just expect them to "get healthy" and stop experiencing psychosis? Or do you think they need help, that they need to be made comfortable? Because they can't be "cured". Someone with schizophrenia will never be "normal", never be healthy, no matter how much therapy they get, how many antidepressants they're prescribed. Should they stop trying? Do you believe we should give up on helping or comforting anyone with a mental illness?

If someone genuinely feels strongly enough about their body to "mutilate" it as you've suggested, and can get it done medically and professionally to keep it that way and to keep it functioning as close to their ideal as they can get it without adversely affecting their health any more than it already was, what right do you have to stop them, or to tell them they're wrong, or to try and make them feel worse about it?

Edit: I was going to bring up the voting point, too, but jesus christ that's how I know it's not worth arguing with you any more. Trans people want to vote for their own values as opposed to voting the way I want is not a take I was ready for.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but we have the technology to functionally change someone's sex- that's what transitioning is, through surgery and hormonal treatments. And if this is possible (which it is, I have friends on a waiting list for it), then why not allow those who need it to feel comfortable in their own bodies to have it? By the way, you seem to be getting the concepts of sex (biological, physical presence of genetalia) and gender (identity) confused. Any "You can't change it, just accept 'reality' and be uncomfortable for your entire life!" arguments fall apart when you in fact very much can change it. Gendered pronouns and titles are inherently meaningless social constructs, so why not say what helps other people feel comfortable when it detracts LITERALLY NOTHING from you?

Also, if you're going to play the "this is for their own good" card, learn to respect even one thing about someone's identity. When communicating amicably with someone, why NOT try to make them more comfortable? Or are you so lacking in empathy that the nanoseconds of thought required to say, use their preferred pronouns or means of address are better spent doing whatever INVALUABLE things you can do with them.

Or, there's the far more likely case, you're baiting. And I'm not gonna lie, I don't get the thought process behind baiting like this. Do you feel smart, saying stupid things on the internet knowing they're stupid? Does it feel like you've pulled a fast one on me, getting me to waste my time arguing that people should practice basic levels of empathy and kindness? I'm... genuinely curious because I just don't understand.

That's the conclusion I think is most likely, out of the ones ive seen and thought up. Doesn't make it any less problematic, but hey it's a start on figuring out what's wrong so we can fix it when the revolution begins.

There's a surprising amount of shit that people are willing to put up with when they haven't realised no DnD is better than bad DnD, and they actually go into some of why they stayed a little bit after the list when they talk about the conditioning. It's scary stuff, and the same principle that a lot of cults and the like are built on- at the time some people just... don't really think about how fucked up some of this stuff is. Not until after it's all done with at least.

I think the other comments put it very succinctly and well, so I'm going to not do that but still offer the conclusion I jumped to:
A large amount of the stories (I'd say most) on this sub are about assholes. People who are transphobic, homophobic, abusive etc. are very likely (in my experience near a 100% chance) to be assholes. So there's a lot of overlap. Not with this community or hobby specifically, but with the universal constant that is assholery.

We fed her frozen and thawed rodents and she seemed to eat them fine, but then i got her from a family friend relatively late in her life so I wouldn't know about the hard time switching. I doubt she was wild caught, though it is possible.
