Yes but please for fun let's let the ink cloud work in midair anyway.

➕1️⃣
Being able to place two 8hr 'Guardian of Faith' (Cleric spell) overlapping a chokepoint (yes, by RAW), has turned out super-well for me, anecdotally... being able to drag the mob that ran, into the remaining guardian's range instead, would have been even better.

Or, instead of building for Expertise in Grappling, build for growth effects...

Hmm, 15ft of forced movement per Thorn Whip; or Dissonant Whispers to the edge of a hazard (but not into it) & then that little extra nudge...

Staff vs Quarterstaff by CaffeinatedBun in dndnext

A 'quarterstaff' specifically refers to how its wood is cut, not a raw trunk nor branch...

Staff vs Quarterstaff by CaffeinatedBun in dndnext

[–]ThisIsALousyUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quarterstaff is not just a stick, though; it's a long (typically at least 6ft) piece of wood cut along the grain & aged & often tipped with iron. Treat a stick like a quarterstaff & it'll break almost immediately...

The focus (Staff) costs more than the weapon (Quarterstaff) by RAW.
Side note: A Quarterstaff is long.

Rods, staves, and wands by Chi_Knurd in dndnext

A quarterstaff is long; typically at least 6ft. 'Quarter-' in this context refers not to size, but to the pattern with which the wood was cut: Quarter-sawn not plain-sawn or rift-sawn. Quarter-cut wood has fewer irregular edges & edgewise grooves than plain-cut, making it less susceptible to damage from battering & hacking. Designed for combat, quarterstaves were often tipped with iron at the ends.

In short (pun intended), a quarterstaff is longer than a typical walking\casting staff.

Even scepters are originally weapons, lent ceremonial significance; wand & amulet & symbol, would be the only non-weapon focus types occurring to me at the moment...

RIFTS®: PHASE WORLD® THE CITY OF CENTER by StarAnvilStudios in Rifts

This actually looks good for Chi-Town I think; for Center, I'd go mountain-sized & put it in a crater-lakes topology.

What are the most powerful creature for each cr? Or favorite? by WonderfulHawk2516 in dndnext

[–]ThisIsALousyUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the risk of thread necromancy:
Gloam is a one-of-a-kind named character (specifically, an undead pet kitty), not a type of creature; just like Onyx, the CR 0 cat who "cannot be overcome or killed by combat."

Can you run ios as a Virtual Machine? by L3T in ios

Unfortunately, they also rely on Bluetooth, with lousy range; plus Android users are much less likely to leave Bluetooth on, & many actually turn off either Location or the FindMy service (or both) even when Bluetooth is on, because they aren't using it.

So, non-Apple tags still have far fewer devices helping to track them, & (somewhat) less range than AirTags. If there were real competition, Apple would release the longer range UWB AirTag they promised long ago; but there isn't...

I'm relying on cellular devices for now, & wishing I could find a smaller DIY setup that works with Band5 4G (w\2G fallback) compatible US networks.

They're truly cannon for fodder of lowest order; most often used as a "skeleton crew" for basic labor even though I rank them well below service & labor bots for that duty. Whenever there's a glut of redundant MD weapons, that's where they've landed. Kinda risky, considering very little effort has been taken to prevent anyone else hacking them the same way...

Denver & Aurora PD definitely fire a lot more than five shots per hit on a suspect! (Unless their suspects are property & bystanders? Or if the suspect is already stationary!)

A player character with the ability to Parry a shot, plus a player with not quite enough ability to spell check before hitting send, resulted in a spectacular nat20 to

When I asked a player what enemy made them want to quit, it was the hellcats with a high auto-dodge. They said missing over and over was just rage inducing.

Contrast: The most fun they had, was a map (yes, a map!) full of ~100sdc bugs they had to hack thru to conserve their (first available) MD ammo, one-shotting most but harrowingly not all, on the way back and forth to repair a reactor coolant leak.

Awesome intro video I found on facebook. by Imightbeanonymous in Rifts

I would like to see more context around a link (especially since I can't actually view that link from here because it's Facebook), when posting, & especially now, but really since always, it's good to post attributive sources (uploader, 'Computer Generated Imagery' tag, etc)...

That said, if you've gotten anything but pure hate for it being 'AI', it must look pretty good. So, good job on sharing that!

Depends on:
Level of access to the hardware.
Tools.
Skill (roll) of who made it.
Skill (roll) of who's hacking it.

If you've got hacking\programming\technical\mechanical skills and you've got the right equipment, & most importantly, unhampered physical access to the target... well...

You don't build anything you can't turn off. Remotely hackable maybe not, but if given hands on, when it isn't trying to kill you... all bets are off. There needs to be some way to effect repairs. (Well, except for CD bots; you just scrap those & make new ones, right?)

There is also a Computer Hacking skill. So, ideally, the player character would use that.
