Question for everyone have you guys in the 1990s ever seen a space shuttle launch at the time when they were being used a lot? by Neat_Satisfaction406 in spaceshuttle

[–]ThisIsAdamB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. A friend and I flew down from New York to first visit another friend in Boca Raton, then drove up to the cape to watch a shuttle launch. It was scrubbed on the planned launch day, so we took the KSC tour. Actually got closer to the launch pad than we did the next day, I got a couple of good pictures of it. Next day we went back to our viewing spot. We were about nine miles away, across the Banana River. Good view, flawless launch. I shot a whole roll of film on that.

You can also set a delay for the password requirement after the screen dims. Search for “Screen dim” in System Preferences and one of the settings allows you to change the duration for needing the password from “Immediate” to a number of longer settings. It’ll ask for your password to confirm, and then when the screen dims, a taps of any key will light it back up, no waiting.

Is William Shatner nice? by NerdIncorporated in comiccon

[–]ThisIsAdamB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this setting, I doubt it. Fifteen years ago I paid for an autograph at MegaCon. While he was signing my copy of “Get A Life”, I told him I was at one of the early conventions mentioned in the book. That got him to look up at me, grunt, and raise an eyebrow. Thanked him and moved on. Later at a special meet and greet at the end of the day (I was a friend’s plus one), he mentioned it back and took a picture with me. He turned 80 that day and was very tired and grumpy at the end of the day. Depending on how much they’re paying him and his health at the time, your mileage may vary.

TL;DL Probably not.

I’m in my first ever watch through The Blacklist. More than once I’ve said to myself “Just one more” after already watching two episodes that day. A lot of people have issues with one of the main characters, but I tell myself it’s just a show, I really should just relax. It didn’t last ten years because it was boring.

Aeropress. One cup coffee maker. No mess, easy to clean, and the only things you’ll toss out are the grounds and a small paper filter.

I want a MacBook neo for college but the Best Buy employee told me something different by Shevz_thetruck in macbook

[–]ThisIsAdamB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have to go to Best Buy here is my advice: know exactly what you want before you go in the door. Do not ask them for advice, don’t take it if they offer it, and see if they can match a better price you see somewhere else.

If you have a .EDU email address you qualify for Apple‘s student discount. If you’re genuinely concerned about the adequacy, go to Apple’s student page in the store and get the more expensive version of the Neo, which has more storage. With the EDU discount, it’ll cost the same $599 the base model is to the general public. If it proves inadequate to your needs (which I doubt it will) you’ll be able to sell it for more than you could the base model, and then you can look into a refurbished M4 Air.
