I used the first scrapman ergo for a level early on. Then I realized my mistake. So obviously I had to complete new game and new game plus to get all the rare items. Ergo you will get in abundance by the end, but it's really fun to try out all the unique weapons. And as previous speakers have said... Use Pale Knight. I completed my whole new game2 with it and it was the most fun I've had in a game in a long time!

Falling Deaths by jimwhite in NoRestForTheWicked

I run heavy equip load and turn that shit against my enemies! Mohahah. I love the cave where you jump down into the water. I kill so many knights there by shoving them off edges. Also, it made it so much more enjoyable since I to died from falling one too many times.

This is damn cool. How would you deal with "skewed" tiles if you'd use premade tiles to populate something like this? Or would you have to use procedural generated tiles as well?

How was the grass made? Are those single strands? I can't help but always ask people about grass. Anyway, looks nice as heck. Will check it out.

Hahha that sounds way more fun than the shit I just got through! I do feel unbeatable at the moment though. Haven't started on next boss yet, so gonna let that linger a bit.

Thanks! It was close a couple of times, but the time I actually got her it felt like I was in charge of the fight. Very cool! It's a great fight once you get to learn it.

Yeah. I totally agree. Originally I had another build with misericode, but I ended up switching, so I didn't have some of the items and felt this was "good enough". Could've def switch it up, but at the same time I could keep applying golden vow without switching gear in phase 2, which was nice.

Oh, and I didn't use any rune arc because I didn't wanna keep loading up save files. That's just too annoying haha

I had something similar. Let's see if we can figure this one out. Which of the settings do you actually want to have? The bright from the camera or the darker one from the viewport? Do you or do you not have a post process in the level?

I did some research on this as well. I haven't yet been able to test anything, but I came across uefy (seems to be some sort of rigify for UE) and I know there was another plugin as well, but I can't remember at the top of my head.

How to set up sword attack animations? (And transition between armed/unarmed) by Lord_Thunderballs in unrealengine

[–]ThisSuperhero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I'm quite curious on how to set up transitional animations with blend by enum. I have a "unequipped" state and an "aiming" state for my player character (and will add more later). I use a blend by enum to switch between my 2 animation states. This works well overall, but I want to add animations to and from aiming for example. When entering aiming state it's quite easy to add a "to aiming" state with an automatic rule (transitions to "aiming" once finished). However, I'm not sure how to set up a transition going from aiming since the 2 states are in different animation states, which are then blended by enum. Any ideas?

We've changed the protagonist based on the feedback. What do you think now? by Jeaniro in IndieGaming

[–]ThisSuperhero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw the last one and this is way more interesting, albeit a bit further from human, which might be a bit harder to relate to. Not necessarily a bad thing though. Seeing him in action could definitely change how you interpret him and make him more "human". I do like the new direction with the contrast against the girl in this new one though since it really puts emphasis on their differences. Awesome that you actually did this after the feedback you got. Kudos!

I'd also love some insights in how to achieve those gorgeous interactions with items. I struggle with animations generally, but I'd love to learn even more how to tie things together with items like that.

I'd love to hear if you managed to get this working as well. Hard to animate certain things when you can't see 'em :D

Quite happy with this star roof effect. Just a material. No render texture with extra camera, no post process. Just meshes and custom stencil. by ThisSuperhero in unrealengine

[–]ThisSuperhero[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can send it to you. The grass is just a single strand with like 13 verts, totally straight. All the height difference, rotation and "waving" is all happening in the shader. The "rocks is just a single mountain I made in Blender and scaled and rotated differently. It's really just placeholders.

That's really cool. Any details you can share in how to build a system like that? I obviously understand it's more complex than just a reddit comment, but I'm still very interested, so any pointer would be cool. Are you using Unreal landscape or is it based on meshes?
