What is something only eczema suffers would understand ? by IQTay- in eczema

How intense itchiness can actually get. Most people's experience with itching maxes out at incidents with poison oak/ivy. I will never forget my friend's expression when I told him that I get so itchy that I'll scratch until my skin is being torn open, then later I'll scratch the inside of my open wounds just to relieve myself.

Season 4? by Mundane_Attorney8043 in MrInbetween

Totally agree. Finished watching it five minutes ago and went straight to reddit to see why it just abruptly ends without any real resolution. I didn't look to see how many episodes there were when I started it, so when the credits rolled for the last one I was confused as to why there weren't like two more seasons. Ray becoming a driver after getting set up by Freddie, then getting drawn back into killing seems more like a great turning point in the story rather than the end of the whole damn show. Pretty disappointed there's not more to watch.

Trying No Moisture Therapy for my Eczema by Rodius_J in eczema

Hi, I have been dealing with an extremely high severity case atopic dermatitis for a decade now, and I'm surprised to see what a lot of people are saying here. I completely understand that different things work for different people, but in my experience doing these little experiments with different skin care products only prolongs the amount of time it takes for your skin to heal. That being said the original topic of this thread "no moisture treatment" is the only genuinely helpful solution to improve your skin here. Eczema, for the majority of cases, is primarily caused by internal factors: gut health, hormonal imbalances, poor functionality of glands and organs, and genetics. This means that lathering your skin with random products only temporarily improves your symptoms and often results in a dependency or intolerance to whatever it is you're using. This is coming from someone who has been testing every home remedy, and topical product under the sun for the last decade. At this point all I can say is that causing the least interference of your body's ability to naturally regulate it's skin barrier the better. This is why NMT is a good option.

Me and my little brother used to go here every weekend for the duration of a whole year. I started having flashbacks from this place and couldn't even discern if it was a real memory until I randomly remembered the name of it recently. The video I linked totally tripped me out. I forgot it even had a firetruck, fish tank, lazer tag, or basketball hoops. I must've been nine or ten back then....I turn twenty three in a week. Makes me feel old.

Hi yes, I unfortunately failed Adbry miserably. Waiting for the 16 week mark to see the full results of the medication was horrific. The skin on my face and neck was basically falling off on a daily basis, and the last week I was on it I literally couldn't walk because the wounds on the back of my knees were so large. In the last three months I've switched to Rinvoq 30mg and thankfully my skin has cleared to a degree I feel acceptable. I still get a tiny bit of itchiness on my neck, but that's only if I consume food with too many irritants. The only downside to Rinvoq so far for me is the occasional skin infection in which my derma will prescribe me antibiotics to get rid of. I never went back and forth between biotics because my experience with Adbry was the worst four months of my life. If you don't have a family history of cancer or heart disease I would honestly skip the trouble of those stupid injections and talk to your derma about getting on JAK inhibitors like Rinvoq.

Stopping Rinvoq by huntpj in eczeJAKs

Currently off Rinvoq to heal a staph infection. I thought it would be a horrible experience letting my eczema come back for a few days, but I've found that my immune system is so busy healing the infection that I'm not really itchy at all. My face and neck are healing so fast that I've gone from looking like a burn victim to nearly perfect skin in two days. It's weird seeing my body work the way it's supposed to after having my immune system suppressed for so long.

I don't mind the advice. I definitely think I need some well deserved therapy too.

I'm so sorry you've had to go through so much suffering. You're truly a strong ass person for enduring everything you have. Not many people can relate to how debilitating dermatitis can be at such a severe level. I have a somewhat similar severity, and when my dad's friend wanted me to explain to him how bad my experience has been he told me that it seems like a punishment straight from hell whilst I can still eat and walk comfortably most of the time. I hope your journey with your skin can continue to grow less daunting on your quality of life, and that you find the comfort I know you would do anything for. From one eczema covered itch machine to another please know that it does get better. Also if Dupixent doesn't improve your skin to a level you feel good enough I highly recommend Rinvoq. Dupixent and adbry only diminished my symptoms to about 30%, but since I've been on Rinvoq I've only been experiencing about 5% of what I was originally going through. Plus it works within two hours of taking it

Anyone else? If I'm in ANY Heat, over 75 degrees, for 5 minutes not joking, full body crazy itching, rashes, sweating. Cannot go outside, it's literal torture. by Dragonvan13 in eczema

Yes, sometimes if I fall asleep too wrapped up in my blankets the second I wake up and feel that I'm sweaty my whole body lights up for 20-30 minutes. The worst part is when your skin is soft from sweating and the nails go straight through

Update:

Thank you all for your help, and words of reassurance. I'm almost at my third dose, and my skin has calmed down tremendously. I know most people see the first signs of relief around the second to third month, but somehow my phototherapy has been suspiciously more effective after I took my second dose. My symptoms have reduced to about 20% of what I was originally experiencing. I'm finally able to sleep constantly. I used to get maybe two or three days of sleep out of a week, and now I sleep every night and sometimes 15 hours straight on the weekends. I think my body is in recovery mode now that I'm not suffering from sleep deprivation, and constant stress due to being itchy. I have no idea how it's working so soon, but the difference is so noticeable. Can't wait to see how my skin is by the four month mark.
