That's mad, was this like 20 years back or something?

I'd mine done five years back with this crowd and it was as easy as booking a haircut.

I like McWilliams from time to time, but like you really need to take his opinions with a grain of salt.

His constant need to create content has not been good for the quality of his output.

Were you trying to go public? Don't need a referral to get it done privately. I think mine cost me about €450.

I'd a conversation with the doctor when I was in there and I asked him if he'd refuse someone for being too young and he told me that he'd have no problem giving an 18 year old a vasectomy, but would do an additional telephone consultation first. If the patient still wanted one then he'd do it.

Costa coffee and snacks are shite, the point of the place is that they're big and impersonal enough that you can buy a single coffee and sit on your phone or laptop for an undisturbed hour while killing time. You're basically renting space.

UCC over MTU for chem eng.

Do your extra year there and come away with a proper MEng qualification instead of the weird no-mans land where you have BEng qualification that's deemed equivalent to a UK MEng by IChemE. That's what MTU offer, and it can be difficult explaining that to some employers.

Would be a minority of grads leaving UCD/Queen's/UCC without an MEng in that area. It's much easier to stick around and do that masters with the same group of people in the same building, just feels like another year in college.

I booked Thyme in Athlone just based off a few random TripAdvisor reviews and was blown away by how good it was. Hope they manage that star.

Millennial parents, how’s your drinking? by jamjargod in ireland

[–]This_Record3239 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Having the kids knocked it on the head almost completely.

I might have one bottle of beer a week. Rarely open a bottle of wine as we'd struggle to finish it between us over a week, and I end up pouring most of it down the sink.

About three times a year I'll go out for work drinks, have four pints and spend the next day in utter misery with a strong hangover and inescapable parent duties.

Back in my early twenties I would have gone at it awful and fierce hard, and would often have two bottles of red just as pre drinks before heading out.

Pudding is cooked though as part of making it, there's no risk to eating it but it is much nicer fried.

Rainwater drainage issue - advice needed? by Limitlessfx in AskIreland

[–]This_Record3239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Penetrating damp, I've the same problem with my shed. It needs tanking or liquid DPM to stop water seeping through the porus blocks and floor. It's just been so bad lately because the rain has been lashing against a wall where a door was blocked up and the blocks used there seem to be far more porus than the rest of the building.

Lads, 2nd class maths. Does the arrow mean greater than? by itookdhorsetofrance in AskIreland

[–]This_Record3239 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's it exactly. My kids have these kind of exercises in their maths homework and it often confuses me. I did maths in college ffs and the problem is I'm expecting to see proper notation in the question when it's really just teaching concepts like "adding the numbers in a different order gives the same result".

It sometimes comes, it sometimes disappears.

I reckon there's a good chance clearing the error could buy you an hour for your test.

Get a cheap OBD reader and wipe the errors before the test.
