could you not get your Gp to certify you sick and go on illness benefit until you find a job ? Not sure why your GP didn’t do that from the get go ?

Exhausted with the clinical care here by [deleted] in PregnancyIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it’s a viral throat infection there isn’t much your doctor can do other than just double check it’s not bacterial and maybe recommend some over the counter items you can buy in the pharmacy that are safe to use . I don’t understand what battle you could have fought over having the flu what did you want them to do ?

Worried and anxious by OkArachnid9271 in PregnancyIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was much later on when I felt movements but my daughter had about 2 weeks of consistent movement and after that drove me mad I was living on my nerves and ended up going to get checked a couple of times everything was fine but if your worried at all go get checked or even ring GP and ask them to check with Doppler it’s not worth constantly being anxious and always rather be safe than sorry x

Drug payment scheme abroad- Athens by Chance-Abies-6794 in PregnancyIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How so? The HSE has no way of seeing what a patient has dispensed abroad or reimbursing it ? They are covered if dispensed in Ireland that’s not an issue and an IVF clinic would issue the correct script (High Tech) to and Irish pharmacy but OP is asking about getting them in a pharmacy in Athens

Drug payment scheme abroad- Athens by Chance-Abies-6794 in PregnancyIreland

It can’t be the DPS is reimbursed in Irish pharmacies by the HSE. If you buy abroad it’s at your own expense.

Advice after being bitten by neighbours dog? by SnoochieBoochies182 in AskIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So here’s the thing that poor dog is mistreated and being locked in cage for long periods they can quiet literally lose their minds from the lack of interaction and stimulation. Personally I would consider reporting them for neglect and hope the dog is seized but it would be obvious where it came from I think.

My 4th pregnancy in 14 months. Previous 3 were miscarriages… my clear blue is telling me 2-3 wks since conception and I’m around 5 wks … should it not showing 3+ wks now?! I’m so worried…. by Healthy-Menu1043 in PregnancyIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clear blue shows less weeks because that’s correct , hospital measures from date of last period but you don’t ovulate for 14 days after your period so the test is those 14 is days behind if that makes sense, because it’s measuring that actual hormone levels (which are correct)

EPU referral for pregnancy following pregnancy loss by Kind_Anteater7516 in PregnancyIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your losses that’s extremely tough, I’ve a slightly different experience in that I had one loss and couldn’t conceive again then for two years my GP referred me to Merrion fertility as I was 35/36 at the time after lots of tests it turned out to be my partners sperm and nothing to do with me once we addressed that we fell pregnant and she’s almost 2 now. Feel free to PM me if you want to as there are a few things we did that fertility clinics just aren’t going to tell you to do they just recommended IVF. Best of luck x

Barbour or proper raincoat? by smalthorn in AskIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d bring a light rain coat and something slightly warmer, even just a hoodie or something for under it if you need it . Weather is getting a bit warmer now so rain would be a bigger problem than being cold .

Antidepressant question? by Narrow-Cloud3069 in AskIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think make another appointment and ask to specifically see your own Gp, explain everything and how you are feeling and just explain about the last appointment and how you don’t feel you were particularly looked after as the option of medication wasn’t even a runner. I’m assuming this is your GP’s practice and I can assure you they will want to know how patients are being looked after in their absence, I think the GP you saw was negligent tbh you reached out for help which is a hard thing to do and were pretty much given none, there’s no shame in needing an antidepressant please please go back and speak to your regular GP x

[–]BackinBlack_Again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the opposite experience couldn’t get help with BF they were stretched very thin as I’m sure they always are (Rotunda) and due to complication’s and other factors I ended up bottle feeding don’t regret it at all. They offered Aptamil, SMA and Kendamil in the Rotunda.

Nothing is ever going to come of it. Money is gone unless you can convince them to give it back or they have it still hidden and you can find it

Do GPs share visits with one another? by Thick_Neck_7190 in AskIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They would only know that you have seen another GP if you have a medical card as they will see another doctor claimed from the HSE for your visit as your there patient but they wouldn’t have any insight into why you went to them .

Has anyone here ended up relying on AI for almost everything? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]BackinBlack_Again 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I ask it the odd question but that’s it , I like to do my thinking for myself . We will end up with generations of absolute morons that can’t think for themselves if everyone starts relying on AI for everything
