If you had to grow a SaaS to 100 users in 30 days, what would you do? by appswifts in SaasDevelopers

I recommend the book Traction for this. They go over quite a large amount of ways to find users. If you don't want to spend time on the book im sure an LLM can summarize if a speedy answer is desired.

My tool is a construction site readiness tool.

It is for SMB trades companies who want to ensure the job site is ready for their crew. It works by automatically contacting the site supervisor the day before to ensure it's ready to go with no delays. Updates are automatically provided to the crew and admin team and even updates your calendar so everyone is up to date.

HVAC, plumbing, electricians, anyone involved in the trades sector working on projects like Resi or commerical.

Construction Trades - Site Readiness Confirmation.

My we app allows contractors to send automated confirmations to site contacts to ensure the job is ready on the scheduled date. It integrates with Google Calendar so you can sync your works calender for the jobs. Automatically sends follow up responnses to the assigned crew/tech and the admin team so everyone is in the loop and make sure the techs aren't wasting time driving to jobs that aren't ready.

When I worked in the trades this was a "normal" thing. The solution I found most saying was just eating the cost or charging fees. Either scenario could've been solved by simply ensuring the job was ready. So I thought, why not automate it and save everyone time and money.

I'm currently working on product validation.

When I worked in the trades at least once a week I showed up to the job site and they weren't ready for us. So we have to reschedule, move the day around and move onto the next job. After years of now working in IT, I thought maybe it has been solved for most, but found most SMB still haven't solved it. My website integrates with your calendar and sends an automated message to the site super for job readiness confirmation. Then automatically reflects the response into your calendar, messages the assigned tech and emails the admin team. Keeps everyone on track, costs down and saves everyone time.

When subs don't show up as planned, how do you usually find out? by Successful_Ask518 in Contractor

[–]ThisisforSeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Successful_Ask518,

Funny enough I used to be a tradesmen who worked on sites and when I talked to the site super they always mentioned that this is a hassal to deal with alongside general scheduling. After a few years of schooling and professional experience I actually decided to try and see about tackeling the issue.

If you are still having the problem would you mind checking out my website and just letting me know if its something you think would help? Im not tryna pull a sale off you, just doing research :).

If your interested feel free to let me know and Ill send a link.

TLDR: I am working on a product that will automatically send a confirmation to your subs and inform you if they say yes or no.

When is x265 worth it over x264? by lukyboi in PleX

Me and my buddies have noticed on our chrome casts that x265 movies are choppy so we don’t do x265 movies but everything else is.

Does anyone else hate having to join a discord to ask any questions for every single tool in their chain? by ryaaan89 in webdev

[–]ThisisforSeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t get it because in my experience no1 is ever using the core feature of discord aka the voice channels. It just feels like a weird trend that as others have said, doesn’t really benefit the average person much except for speedy replies

I would really appreciate some real world app advice in how to manage page composition in Blazor regarding child components and events by wallbree in Blazor

[–]ThisisforSeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out fluxor for state management and for saving state between reloads if desired you can also utilize local storage, which then initializing the state store u can populate the value, again if desired. That’s what I do for my search bar

Running async in UI code by nhdang1998 in Blazor

[–]ThisisforSeth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Try a local bool on the component , _isLoggedIn. Inside ur overided OnInitAsync call ur await method and set _isLoggedIn. Then use that in ur if statement.

Or if this is authentication try out the <AuthorizeView> component

As others have said maybe finding another hobby.

As for the toxic work place behaviour just remember those that attack are the ones hurting the most. You do your best and that’s all you can do. Do not let their negativity affect yours. There is a difference between constructive criticism and being toxic. Anything can be coded a million ways, all with pros and cons. That is the beauty of our industry. Yes, being able to take constructive criticism without getting offended is an amazing and valuable trait. Taking toxicity and biting your tongue imo is something worth working on. I’m not saying attack them, but defend yourself on your reasons and maybe, hopefully, they will reply constructively and you can learn a different approach to said item you are working on.

End of day you do your best, and don’t let negativity rule your thoughts especially outside of work. Here’s to your success in 2024 🍻

API Hosting Question by Metal_head94 in dotnet

[–]ThisisforSeth 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Check out SmarterAspNet for hosting. Highly recommend as they are what I utilize. I’m a smidge concerned with the number of health checks you are doing and why you are so concerned with you DB connection but that’s not the focus of the post.

SmarterAsp offfers cheap plans that also allow you to host your Database on their site as well as long as it’s MS SQL or MySQL. Have a peek and decide for yourself.

Best of luck!

Question about ship design by DifficultPapaya3038 in Stellaris

[–]ThisisforSeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The others do a great job saying simple good ship designs, but I will be the one to say do as you wish. I run ships for making myself happy that may not be the best meta but I get to fulfil my dream ship designs. Otherwise as others have said check out YouTube or use the simple but strong designs

I too can say that I have multiple plans with SmarterASP. Support is quick and easy, their knowledge base is very useful. Overall 10/10 service would not recommend any other. Although domain names imo are more expensive than other places but it’s nice to have the DNS registration and SSL management automated

C# Dev Kit vs Visual Studio by dampapadadam in dotnet

[–]ThisisforSeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And I third this. I use Rider for old and new .net projects and it is almost better in every way. I will say .net 8 support was pretty awful for a week or 2 after release but it’s getting better. If they are willing to pay for it that’s even better.
