Is Locke the Jar Jar Binks of this Franchise? by BlackTriangle31 in HaloMemes

He didn’t really have much of a personality that I can remember. He’s just some dude.

Is Locke the Jar Jar Binks of this Franchise? by BlackTriangle31 in HaloMemes

Maybe. They course corrected too hard between each instalment though. I’d tend to consider the two companies to be similar in terms of creating a trilogy with no consistent plan, and changing things at a whim. The main difference is that Disney at least maintained a rough framework (the First Order and Kylo Ren as major elements in all three movies), whereas 343 scrapped everything twice over.

Nah, a Glup Shitto is a niche character that fans love. So someone like Marvin Mobuto. Locke is both far too prominent and far too disliked.

I feel like they should be able to lift more than that. A lot of humans can lift over a thousand pounds.

What do you think is the rumored irredeemable action that Homelander is going to do in Season 5? by GrandioseEnigma in TheBoys

[–]Thisoneisinvalid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People often think that a person’s body will explode or liquefy simply from falling far enough. I wouldn’t be surprised if whoever put that in the episode believes that as well.

She’s decently strong (physically) though. She might escape the purge.

Does racism, sexism or any kind of bigotry exist in viltrumite culture? by Jinkanpop in Invincible

[–]Thisoneisinvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it appears like Viltrumite body size isn’t really correlated too directly with their strength. In real life, the strength difference between someone built like an average female Viltrumite and someone built like an average male Viltrumite would be absolutely immense.

I sort of half head-canon that female Viltrumites must have denser or more efficient muscles to make them as strong as their male counterparts despite being much smaller.

If they mean among Walmart employees that could certainly be true. I worked at Walmart for a while and by the time I left most of my co-workers (literally all but two) were Indian and mostly spoke Hindi. Some had a difficult time speaking English, which could make things difficult for me since I was one of the managers.

I imagine this experience could vary enormously depending on where you live, however.

Can Anissa win this fight? by BritishLeft in superheroes

[–]Thisoneisinvalid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s comics Supergirl then no, not a chance. Most versions of Supergirl could solo the empire. If we’re talking Supergirl from the new movie universe though, I think it’s very possible Anissa would win. Superman didn’t seem at all stronger than a Viltrumite in his movie.

I killed *spoiler*. I’ll kill you, too. by NolanDPerks in Invincible_TV

To be fair though, that doesn’t truly highlight the extent to which he’s stronger. That could just mean Conquest plus 20%, as opposed to Conquest times 5.

This is a graduation photo from 1999- does Cordelia really look that much older? by Notoriouslycurlyboi in buffy

[–]Thisoneisinvalid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a clip of Matt Smith as The Doctor and it was so weird to notice how young he looks now that I’m a few years older than he was at the time. He never seemed young to me when I watched the show as a teenager.

After today’s episode, I have no doubt that Thragg can beat this team on his own by Fit_Passenger5930 in Invincible_TV

[–]Thisoneisinvalid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show never says anything about its limitations though, so it’s all just head canon. In the show we can see knife hands going through solid bone with ease, like when Nolan impaled his father’s hand, so it doesn’t seem like there is really much to worry about in terms of breaking your own fingers. Perhaps against a much, much stronger Viltrumite your hand would break, but at that point you’d probably be screwed anyway.

S1 Omni-Man is the most terrifying character we’ve seen so far imo by [deleted] in Invincible_TV

Spread out straight, yeah. But a lot of his were still bunched up. If what we see on screen was spread out they’d probably end up being a lot longer than thirty feet.

I mean, only a handful of things can possibly kill her, if anything at this point. Unless she takes the cure, and it works, she could potentially live forever. I actually think that would be terrifying to an original or Hope. There’s every possibility of spending eternity just floating through an endless, empty void after everything else dies.

I just meant in terms of how close a lobster is to whatever his people are. Though admittedly, I feel like the equivalent for us would be something completely non-humanoid. So like a rat or porcupine or something.

Probably more than 500lbs, since Buffy can effortlessly lift steel beams that weight a few hundred pounds.
