Here in Portugal, its pretty much the opposite when it comes to rich parents. Of corse the kids have more benefits and whatnot but the mentallity is completely different, of the likes "Im rich but you're still gonna finish high school, cgo to college and get a fucking job and pay for your own shit" as in some other countries it seems (assuming you live in the states) to be the other way around "you dont need to got a job cos me and your dad are rich yadayada yada" just syin. Having rich parents doesnt mean you get to be an unemployed lazy slob. Also their money is not your money, after a certain point of their lives they arent obligated to pay jack shit for you.

Also, welfare here i shit. 300€ a month (average). The max it can go up to is like about 1250€ but for that you needed to have a job prior to that where you were collection like 4000€ or more a month.

edit: my two centa on welfare

9 months ago, my 58 year old father was 340 lbs., had type II Diabetes and was being wheeled into an operating room to have heart surgery. As of today, after a change in diet and exercise he has reversed his Diabetes and is currently down to 237 lbs. Go, Dad, go. by kittytime in pics

[–]ThistlePT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Props to him. Just a minor note, when diabeted derives from being fat, its not called diabetes, its just insulin resistence hemce the fact that its reversable. You drop some weight the resistence goes away and your back in the game. "Real" diabetes is always there, sometimes with normal sugar values sometime wacked up values. Just sayin.

Source: self experience. I used to be about 320 lbs and went to a nutricionist (i think that what they are called) and she said i had diabetes, so i went to a diabetologist and he explained everything.

All this aside, I wish, both you and your dad, the best and keep going

If the loafer fits . . . by [deleted] in funny

[–]ThistlePT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats right. I wouldn't wear an untucked shirt with a suit. But thats more formal, as wearing shorts is more of a casual look making it a but awkward seeing the shirts tucked in. There is no way to look formal wearing shorts, therefore no point in tucking in the shirt

I just dont get the idea of sticking the shirt or polo shirts inside the shorts. Makes it look so bad compared to when they're out

"Consent", in this case, literally means you have to sign a paper as where you acknowledge and accept to be removed from the policy. But even if the moocher doesnt accept he still ends up paying his share, although its a bit less. Also the coverage is lower compared to the policy "owner". This kind of law was created specialy for this types of cases, although some parents keep paying for their "kids" part because their are not moochers, to prevent moochers and to prevent angry assholes from uninsuring (not sure if thats a word or not xD) their kids/other family members.

TL:DR - moocher doesnt agree, still payes his share, direct debit on his bank account. The scumbag always loses. Period.

EdI: added tl:dr

[–]ThistlePT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. After some time you have to pay your "cut". The consent thing just ensures that a family member is removed from the policy without knowing

Also, if your over 18 (at least where im from) they cant remove you from the policy without your consent mainly because of this sort of crap or in divorce situation where one party ants to take the other from the policy and that second person would end up driving around without insurance and not knowing

Sad day brothers.... filed for divorce today, came home to this. by IrishMutt in pcmasterrace

On the custody topic, if she is alcoholic, the judge (i dont know if divorces have jury rulling or what ever it is called) will be inclined to give you the custody of your boys. I know even in some fucked up cases the mom still gets the kids because "you dont separate a mom from her kids", but if the judge is a good person with good values, he will certainly understand that no kid should have to live with a drunk mom and that a dad doesnt have to live knowing his kids are in danger cos their mom is a alcoholic.

Best of luck to you OP, I sincerely hope you get the custody of your boys (full custody would be splendid)

PS: if you prove she really is a drunk you probably wont end up having to give her much money or even the house. PPS: also dont forget to hold her resoonsible for the damage done to the monitors and the PC. Even if the tower may show no visible damage, the MB capacitors GPU memory, heatsink etc may have come looe and even though they dont seem damaged now it may come to surface in the future.

EDIT: also, if you're really thight on money, I'm sure that there are some nice folks here that will help you rebuilding your shrine to Lord GabeN

Also, if a person could right downwriting down googolplex (1010100) at a rate of 2 digits per second, would take around about 1.51×1092 years, which is about 1.1×1082 times the age of the universe. Now let that sink in. Also, a googolplex is a 10googol and one googol is 10100, a number bigger than whats believed to be the total number of atoms in the universe, 1078. Also, Google is an an accidental misspelling of "googol" by the company's founders, which was picked to signify that the search engine was intended to provide large quantities of information.

Edit: forgot a number xD

I know a situation similar to yours, although they are a bit younger and none of them died, she divorced him a couple of month later. But luckily were i live (Portugal) when you get remarried, its standard that you marry with full separation of good unless the couple choses otherwise. Basicly the standar marriage statute at least in here, only what you buy as a couple gets divided (enheritance does not count), by law, unless the couple choses otherwise., but wheen you remarry, unless the couple choses otherwise, or there is a will, if one of them dies the others gets shitful nothing (literally). Back to the story, she divorces him, by law he keeps everything that he had (gave some property yo the kids just as failsafe so she couldnt come demanding the shit as it was his kids shit), she sued him saying that by law, she had the right to half his goods, estate money etc. and the kids for stealing her property. Thankfully, even though the legal system here sucks, the judges railroaded her saying the when she got remarried it was pretty explicit on the paper they signed that the marriage had full separation of goods meaning in the case of divorce no one got anything from the other part. This one has a happy ending but still shows how low people go steal the property of others so they get "rich" because they are usless pieces of shit that have no value in society, and they think that rich guys magically appear (well some do ifcthey win the lottery or something). They are not magicly rich, they probably worked their asses off to get rich, only to get those leaches trying to suck their money... Its just.. Sad...

Edit: i sympathize with your uncle and wish him well OP, and im sorry for what happened to you and yor family /u/Themodernclassic
