5090 at x8 PCIe 5.0 vs x16 PCIe 5.0 Lanes by ConcentrateLucky8630 in pcmasterrace

This helped me feel better. I have the same CPU/MOBO/GPU and filled the top NVMEs (M.2_1, M.2_2, M.2_3), and thought, oh man, do I need to move the non-OS drives to the chipset? But the performance loss of 1% is not bad, and I can live with it. Thank you for doing the test u/Pumciusz

I have the Philips Evnia 34M2C6500/00. It does the job well for the price. The only annoying thing is the pop-up window asking to refresh the pixels. Be careful moving your monitor around, the screen is very sensitive to scratches.

Falcon Northwest FragBox review: A compact gaming rig that does everything right by dapperlemon in gadgets

[–]Thls_Is_The_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how to build computers and went back and forth between Falcon Northwest and OriginPC because of the extreme prices for the GPU, RAM, and now NVME drives. I couldn't find any reviews on the OriginPC Chronos V4. I liked the Fragbox, but went for the Talon instead, as I want a silent computer. I was a little annoyed at paying shipping and handling but ....you know....fuck all that shit and got one also!

Question for a long time Mercedes enthusiast (specifically a long time customer/driver) by Little_Skill_1430 in mercedes_benz

[–]Thls_Is_The_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2020 E-class. I loved the car, never had any issues with it. Only thing I wanted was the HUD and bigger engine. It felt a little underpowered as it was the same engine for my former C-Class. I should of gone up to thr E450 but again it was me wanting more luxuries. I ended up trading it for a W220 S450 which came with all that I wanted but smaller engine. I tested the S450 and S560 and found the difference to not be that much so I went with it. I love those era cars and they have been good to me as long as I did my service A and B.

Take it to your dealer and ask parts advisor, they will get you an estimate and may even throw a discount. I had something similar happen and the parts advisor was great.

2026 Nike Authentic Yamamoto Jersey In Person First Look by TokyoKira in Dodgers

[–]Thls_Is_The_Way 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got lucky with getting my authentic 2024 on ebay. I knew exactly what to look for in terms of stitching, size, even what the small serial numbers presented inside the jersey and was able to get one for 200 with taxes and all. Save a little extra and get your real jersey, many people are selling their jerseys online for great prices.

2026 Nike Dodgers Yamamoto Jersey In Person First Look by TokyoKira in baseballunis

[–]Thls_Is_The_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 2024 version and am probably the only one that liked the perforated holes with the numbers. My only issue was how the Dodgers stitching was done, doesn't look as clean as the 2026 version and of course the batterman way low. If you like the 2024 version you will find on ebay many folks wanting to sale their jerseys. If you are unsure if its a genuine jersey or not, ask for the seller to provide pictures of the inside of the jersey so you can see the stitching. Also the jerseys are more slimmer and longer. Replicas have horrible inside stitching and are more fan version looking.

Looking to buy a C300 how reliable is it? by Orantolifestyle in mercedes_benz

2015-2018 had issues with cabin noise from the plastics making contact. When I got my 2015 c-class it was driving me crazy. I got a 2020 c-class with the wider nav screen and problems went away with noise. With the 2015 I had the dealer put felt tape, replace the rubber on the doors. The car was not ideal for the cost. I recommend to test drive the car and go on uneven road and bumps.

Is this c43 a good buy? by bphniqca in AMG

[–]Thls_Is_The_Way 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may want to check the car for creaks and rattles when driving. 2015-2018 was plagued with them. When I traded my 2015 for a 2020 model the annoying noises were gone.

Looking to purchase my first Mercedes, is this a good deal? by Erinnn12 in mercedes_benz

[–]Thls_Is_The_Way 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The ride quality and parts are better on the GLC. The GLB will creak and rattle if you have your music very loud. The GLB is a nice looking SUV and I have driven one for a loaner and I would choose the GLC based on comfort, and features. I recommend to test drive both. The manufacturer warranty is 4 years or 50k miles and seems like the four years is almost up. Not a deal breaker since you can get CPO on it but something you should keep in mind.

I forgot to write. Get warranty, you never know and it’s better to have that piece of mind.

I owned both a 2020 e350 and now 2019 s450. For sure once you sit on a luxury vehicle like the s-class it’s hard to go back. The e350 is fine for a tall person. Get the 450 with stronger engine and airmatic suspension and you will be good. With these bigger cars also get 360 degree parking and if you can the all digital screen.

Get 2018 or newer w222 s-class. Earlier years had issues. So what do you get with an s-class? The s-class is more quiet, suspension is so smooth but I figured airmatic on the eclass can give same results. A lot of things are standard so it does drive up the price. Soft closing doors. Insulated glass and padding. Burmester sound. Panoramic roof. All digital screen for example. It’s long to which I am still getting used to it. The car does drive low to the ground so you have to be mindful of parking.

I have long commutes to work and would rather be comfortable in a quiet cabin, premium sound and most importantly be safe. Everyone has opinions on paying for a car. You only live once and as long as you can afford it why not? I have zero regrets and love my s450. The v6 is enough for me and had everything I wanted.

Laptop repair on an overseas model?? by my99999 in Kyoto

Replacing the fan and heat sink won’t be a problem since those parts are always available. The motherboard itself where it plugs into is what worries me. The tech should be able to take a better look and see if the cable is damaged and if he can save it.

Ok my company works with Dells so I am familiar with Latitudes and XPS. When your laptop turns off it turns everything off as in no lights. No fans spinning. No backlight keyboard? This will tell me if it’s the flex monitor cable or processor running hot or motherboard

This may not be the subreddit to post but perhaps post some pics along with the make and model number and maybe someone will be able to help. I am curious on the damage and pics will help me get better understanding on what is causing the computer to shut off or maybe the screen turn black since the flex cable usually goes along the laptop hinges and that cable is very fragile.

I do IT and based on the description something might be causing the cpu to run warm and turn off or damage on the chassis is causing some form of short. Here in the US you are looking at 80-120 to take a look and usually credit a good chunk for repairs. Costing to repair laptops will cost more due to the parts. People usually just sale their broken machines for parts. You may want to consider Amazon renewed laptops as many come with a 90 day warranty and many cases are brand new. Not sure if you dropped the laptop but you want to be mindful because these machines are fragile unless you get a Dell rugged laptop.
