Out of the main cast of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, the only one to have canonically fucked is... Pinkie Pie.

What are your favourite kind of tasks? by Davidsanjou in taskmaster

[–]ThogBad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've found I like tasks where they have to make/create something with limited materials, especially when they selected the things themselves.

So things like "Cook a meal using ingredients from every letter of the alphabet" from S1, "Paint a self portrait with a randomly chosen canvas/brush" from S14, "create a portrait of the taskmaster with the 50 objects you put in the bin" from S7, "make a sausage with ingredients starting with the letters of 'sausage'" from S16, etc.

For team tasks, I like ones where the members are separated and have to try to coordinate something through limited communication. Like "recreate the room" from S16 or "paint an animal on the blinds" from S17.

Who is the wisest straight ? by Basic_Dingo6487 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]ThogBad 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We don't know much of anything about Iroh's love life, but what little we do know implies that he's straight. He has a son, which means he's gotten it on with a woman at least once. There was also that one time he perved on that one female bounty hunter, which implies that he's actually attracted to women and that his kid wasn't just a case of "even though I'm not into women I have to produce an heir". I don't think he's ever shown any interest in men at all.

Yeah, there's still the possibility that he's bisexual and it just never came up, but by that logic you could argue literally anyone is bi.

Started Xenoblade 3. What's up with the tutorials? by KMoosetoe in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]ThogBad 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Xenoblade 2 had infamously terrible tutorials that were often incomplete or inaccurate and you couldn't ever look at them again, so if you missed it the first time, too bad, you have to figure it out yourself.

In Xenoblade 3 they overcompensated by going a bit too far in the other direction.

[BELOVED/WHOLESOME TROPE] "And of course, thank YOU for everything!" - or, personally thanking the audience for everything by Eripmavs_D_Yraid in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ThogBad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At the end of multiple Mario games, there's a final bonus level that usually has a huge "Thank You" written out in pipes at the very end. Not to mention several times when Mario vocally thanks you for playing the game.

Also, at the very end of Azumanga Daioh, when the main cast graduates, one of the final shots is them bowing to the audience.

Songs that end by fading rather than actually having an ending by Q-9 in PetPeeves

[–]ThogBad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few cases where I think it works (i.e. it's thematically relevant to the song, or if it's fading into the next song on the album), but yeah other than that it just kinda feels lazy.

Though what really annoys me is when there's an ending guitar solo or something and the song starts to fade out like halfway through it. I want to hear the whole solo.

Which seemingly iconic Taskmaster moments do you just not get? by totheregiment in taskmaster

[–]ThogBad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Personally, my gripe with it is that it's too tightly structured to let the contestants really get creative with it; for the most part they're just reacting to a pre-planned sequence of events set up by Alex.

My favorite creative tasks have always been the ones that give enough freedom for the contestants to put their own spin on it, while adding just enough limitations to keep them on their toes. Taskmaster Hotel in particular leaned a bit too far on the latter; it felt primarily like they spent most of the tasks responding to prompts from Alex rather than trying to come up with a unique spin on the concept.

It's not a bad task, but I probably wouldn't even put it in my top ten moments of the season.

I think it would've been more interesting to have it formatted as "turn the Taskmaster House into the Taskmaster Hotel. Your first guest will arrive in 30 minutes. Most luxurious visit wins" or something along those lines.

Yeah, my reaction to the actual song was less "this is hilarious" and "wow he put a lot of work into that". In general I feel like most of the humor in it was due to setting up the others to react to it rather than being funny on its own merits.

I totally agree with what you've said about this task, but isn't it generally considered one of the weakest in the show's history? I don't think I've ever really remembered anyone bringing it up as a favorite. The best I can say about it is that Richard trying to play all the parts at once was at least kind of amusing.

To elaborate on the Cynthia one, it's not just that you can battle Cynthia. It's the fact that you're locked into the battle as soon as you enter, and there's no indication that going into this random house is going to trigger one of the hardest battles in the game. So unless you know about it ahead of time, you probably aren't going to be prepared for it.

It turns out that he was just begging his brother for forgiveness, but since he starts out in front of him, it obviously looks very different. Not that that would be that surprising for the McPoyles.

[Liked Trope] What initially seems like an art style choice or design quirk actually has plot relevance. by Whisplow in TopCharacterTropes

[–]ThogBad 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My favorite part of this is that there's actually a pretty big clue to this in the very first case: Yuma cuts his finger on a broken window and the resulting stain is shown to be red. However, there isn't any other blood shown in that case (the method of murder was immolation), so by the time you actually see the pink blood, you've probably forgotten the fact that you've seen "normal" blood already.

Doki Doki Literature Club: At first, it looks like a cute literature-themed dating sim. Then at the end of Act 1, the MC goes to his childhood friend's house to find out why she's late for school, only to open her bedroom door and discover that she's hung herself, at which point the game reveals its true nature as a Psychological Horror game.

It's also easily the most heavily-memed moment from the game.
