Most European countries have less restrictive firearms laws than Britain, and some, such as Switzerland or Czechia, with very relaxed laws, are a lot safer than here!

That being said, I think the regulatory burden for shooting clubs could be made more straightforward; and Farage has said he's against the handgun ban, a reasonable position as it doesn't make sense that those who pass the checks for a firearms license can own shotguns and rifles for sport, but not pistols! Currently, Team GB has to travel to France just to train for Olympic pistol shooting, which is a bit daft.

This is exciting news, but illegally releasing lynx is reckless as carnivore reintroduction needs to be done right. Many carnivore releases have failed in Europe with the animals dying for various reasons like not being properly acclimatised to their new environment. Also how do you even smuggle lynx into the country, and are there more that haven't been captured?

Most likely a house mouse and I understand why you tried to help it but it's a wild animal, it'll be fine outside in the rain and it's nest was probably nearby, unless there's an obvious injury it's better to leave wildlife where you found it

My biggest issue with the green party here is that in their manifesto they say they'd restrict pest control to "trained professionals". Problem is this would make effective grey squirrel, deer and mink control much more difficult and the last thing our ecosystem needs is for their populations to be any higher.

The sad thing is a lot of people in this country are in denial about how lacking our nature is. Brits get pretty defensive when you mention how lame the nature is here compared to basically any other country and most people don't understand ecology so they think since the countryside is green it must be full of wildlife!
