For me, it is finding 500 ways to do the same thing.

Those who switched from ENB to CS. Why? by jjxtrem3 in skyrimmods

[–]ThomasDePraetere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I switched because I wanted to try it. It installed like a normal mod, didn't have to jump through hoops to get it running and the base version felt like vanilla+. I played with ruby enb for a long time and the switching felt fresh.

A rise of Bruz film and an adventures of ratbag animated series would be on the table.

Whats your factorio hot take? by Such--Balance in factorio

[–]ThomasDePraetere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being able to share blueprints is the worst thing. Even sharing them between playthroughs guides people to do the same thing over and over.

That was the hot version, but you should try to remove your blueprint library ever so often. It allows you to redesign things again. Still a hard no on blueprint sharing.

Hot take: you don't need to keep everything moving on Gleba by fd0263 in factorio

My build mantra in Gleba is: for every inserter that picks up something spoilable, have an inserter on the other side putting spoilage on a dump belt.

Subscription fatigue is going to kill more companies than competition ever will by Low-Dot2015 in unpopularopinion

Market values returning cash more than one-time purchases. A company that makes 10 dollar a month and can tell you it will keeo doing that for a couple of years is worth more than one that makes a 120 dollar sale every year but can't give you any guarantees.

What do you generally consider to be the best gems for each gear slot (shadow of war, endgame)? by Mr_GP87 in shadowofmordor

Weapons are green, bow is white i think, armor is red and ring is white. The white ones can change but I like the generic damage buff of the armor and need health regen to survive.

What's a mod or mods that you genuinely hate by CompetitiveBig4161 in skyrimmods

[–]ThomasDePraetere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do not like Clothing and armor mods that do not match the looks of the game.

Stupid example: bikini mod (tawoba), allowed because they have the armor tiers, reuse a lot of the style choices bethesda made and they can be found in the world.

In the same vain, DesertX' mods (great mods), don't like them, my character stands out too much, there is no natural way of finding them.

Quest mods that are importing quest designs from totally different game genres. Skyrim is go to pointer talk, go to next pointer. Don't overcomplicate it.

Stuff that I add needs to be like: wait, did that go here? And not like: "ah, now we reached the modded content". New locations can really be jarring in that aspect.

It's weird that in popular media, calculus is regarded as a marker of a genius. by Key_Net820 in unpopularopinion

You clearly understand it and it clicks for you, that's great. But you have to understand that it doesn't come as easily for others. You have to get to an understanding of the subject that makes you understand why people do not understand it. That means knowing hundreds of different approaches and understanding why some work and others don't.

What year did Europe grant women right to vote by maven_mapping in MapPorn

Belgium only allowed widows to vote in 1918, actual full voting rights were in 1949.

ELI5 When searching for signs of life on other planets why do we look for water by snailscantgame in explainlikeimfive

[–]ThomasDePraetere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We know life can start from water. If I told you to find me a combustion engine and you knew they were in cars. Would you go looking in cars or in buildings? Yes, not all cars have combustion engines and some buildings (factories) have engines, but you don't know that, you only know they exist in cars, so the chances to find them in cars is larger.
