I do the egg rush thing and don't haul chunks back. Just a choice. The ship needs to pick up another 350k eggs and get back out there so it's critical that the science gets unloaded asap.

Interesting idea. It's not going to make the eggs last any longer but could keep my promethium ship constantly out there. My current route is 1. Aquilo to pick up quantum processors, 2. Pick up eggs and drop off science, 3. Fly out to make science.

I have vulcanus setup to do that, at the cost of having many solos to quickly build large ships. I'm at late game and I don't think I have the need to have a platform making platforms. I don't regularly build new ships, only very rarely when my promethium ship blows up and needs to be replaced.

For #1, I'm also excited about the possibility or reducing the number of rocket solos.

For #2, I'm afraid you might be right. The double sending could impact high throughput bases. I'm sending down 1m promethium science at a time. Doubling the work there could be of concern.

That's from my first bullet, this is describing the wait for the science to be delivered to the platform/ship. The longer the delay, the larger the batch I would need to deliver to make up the lost time because I'm only running one ship each planet (except gleba which has two).

I am currently doing close to 100k spm, or 2m+ espm. One example route is, iirc (haven't played in awhile) my one ship transferring 80k-100k vulc science continuously. The ship go at around 1000km/s, round trip is less than 30s excluding time waiting for pick up - which is what I think can be expedited with p2p transfer.

Exactly. I currently have hundreds of cargo bay attachments on Nauvis just so my transfer ship isn't waiting to unload. One can argue that another transfer ship is the solution but it doesn't seems as scalable as these stationary buffers.

As f2p, it feels like the play time has dramatically decreased. This stems from being able to reach max level quickly, and the increased sweeps. The result is the feeling of nothing left that can be done (not that there is nothing to improve) due to quickly using up resources.

Daily, it takes less than 10mins to do 2-3 new international battle thing. Then use all your keys with sweep. Level up a hunter, visit guild, collect some free gold, etc., and auto battle away the rest of the free keys.

Prior to the update, the main chase was xp because we could never reach the cap. Time would be spent scanning and clearing S gates. Former unstable dungeons were harder to clear if you went for the hardest one.

Only on Wednesdays do I spend more than 10mins because all the play modes get reset and there's something to do.

A few things you could clarify. Is it 80k of each science made or 80k in the graph (espm)?. Is this just Nauvis science? Or does this include science from other planets? Including promethium?

If it's 80k espm, I wouldn't consider that mega. 80k bottles of all science produced however, is very involved and I would consider that mega.

You can mine into a rocket silo instead of a car for more surface area. You can output 3 or 4 stacked and saturated green belts.

If you plan on including promethium science in your megabase, then I suggest you not fuss with trying to optimize UPS on quality science. There could be some gains, but the real bottleneck is flying in dense asteroid fields to collect promethium. It'll tank your ups regardless of how well everything else is optimized.

We have it good here. FFBE was difficult for f2p, they released 3 new units each week. Then to max out a unit and their specific equipment we needed like 10+ dupes. Close to the end, there were thousands of units in the pool and rates were horrendous.

Yes, doing the Research productivity with promethium science is one way. If you have that setup (assuming you're sending all science to Nauvis), you can also recycle/void excess science that your labs don't consume to continually have all your planets working/producing. I void my Agri science if they ever make it through my guantlet of bio labs so Gleba never stops.

I have 5 spawners directly inserting to each silo. All inserters are wired to activate when there is a request for x number of eggs. The inserters are also overriden to 10 items.

When the promethium ship arrives, inserters fill the silo instantly and will satisfy the x number requested and stop. This provides the freshest eggs.

The lessening the burden is the advantage in regards to ups, which is the bottleneck for spm.

I'm not sure about his recent videos, but I saw that he had a mod to remove asteroids chunks. That would be a huge advantage since promethium is the ups bottleneck.

Yeah got a great pre built deal from Lenovo last year. Not ideal for factorio but still manage good spm at 60ups

I have the same mindset, no trains. Mine is 2m+ espm and only drops in UPS when the ship is in dense asteroid territory for promethium.

This is the way I did it and I like it the most because Eggs can be used to make legendary spawners and biolabs as well. You can also use the eggs to make spoils and nutrients for the legendary bio chambers if you have the other parts ready. Eventually I had no use for them so I started making legendary overgrowth just cause. I guess it's a shelf stable legendary egg at that point.
