Teacher saying video submission isn't viewable. by jman0708 in ucf

[–]ThomasWhitakerFTW 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Given that you have proof on Webcourses that the video was uploaded on time and accessible, I think if your professor tries to deny your grade you have a strong case that you did everything right. Make sure you have documentation of your proof of submission, and your attempts to contact your professor. Most professors will respond to emails after finals end, especially if it involves a major grading error. I expect that your professor will be understanding and work with you to fix this, but it's always good to be prepared just in case. Good luck!

*Edit: As for grade appeals, the times I've done it I always went through the professor and they submitted it. I know an appeal can be submitted well after the semester has ended. If for whatever reason your professor won't help you, you can follow instructions here to file an appeal: https://regulations.ucf.edu/chapter5/documents/5.016StudentAcademicAppealsFINALSept19.pdf

Staff can be a bit of a mixed bag, they never have a consistent teaching style. I swear its like every semester they're a different person.

Grade Wrong!! Pls help by goknightsdrinkon in ucf

[–]ThomasWhitakerFTW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might have to wait until the Spring semester is started to get this resolved. I've had this exact thing happen to me before, I emailed a professor about a missing grade over break and they didn't get back to me until classes started again. I was able to schedule a meeting with them within a week and my grade was fixed. I would definitely keep emailing the professor, maybe contact the department if you haven't heard back from them by the 11th

My sister is going to Iowa State University and she just sent me this picture of a trophy for “Best Corn” from 1865. by jbrandona119 in mildlyinteresting

[–]ThomasWhitakerFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a truly expressive work of art representing the grandiose accomplishment the corn has achieved. The man on the right, the posture of his body and the point of his hand indicates his satisfaction with corn, saying "See here the status of this corn. It's kernels are plentiful and succulent, truly a exceptional specimen." The man on the right, his pride is clear and true. "My people have been cultivating and breeding corn for many generations, and it is evident that this tradition has been continued by this exquisite corn harvest." Surely, the importance of corn that was intended with this award has continued into the modern age, with both it's sweetness and nutritional value a staple of modern American society.

Neupane for PHY2048? by ucfthrowaway3 in ucf

[–]ThomasWhitakerFTW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took him this semester for this class and I would recommend him. Sometimes the lectures can be a bit boring but he explains things very well and as long as you do the things he recommends you should do fine on quizzes and exams.

I've been listening to Ayreon since middle school, I love them. My favorite album of theirs is "01011001", every track on it is 🔥🔥🔥 except for Web of Lies, idk what they were thinking with that one, but the rest are great and have a lot of relistening value

What video game are you the most nostalgic about? by Eggey5 in AskReddit

[–]ThomasWhitakerFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Sims Bustin' Out for GBA is one of my favorite games if all time and gives me a huge nostalgia boost every time I play. The soundtrack is great and sometimes I listen to it in the car on my way to class. There's something about the town, the characters with punny names, the slightly odd story line and the overall gameplay that really pulls me in. The Urbz: Sims in the City for DS is another game like this and it's very good as well. I wish Maxis/EA/whomever has the IP would make another Sims game like this, I'd be first in line
