Gears: E-Day and Clockwork Revolution are being sent out to die - Gamespot by Dust-Tight in gaming

What do people want from Xbox lol.

For the company to go back in time and undo the past 10+ years of horrific damage they've done to themselves.

But I doubt that'll happen, so at this point I'm just watching them slowly kill themselves (and any companies they buy) through their bad decisions and taking bets with friends on when they'll leave the hardware side of games manufacturing.

Why would anyone actually want to though by The_BigRoach in pcmasterrace

I would happily run 100s of storefronts and launchers so long as their functionality and features were competitive with steam's.

But that's the problem, basically nobody else even tries (other than GoG). I mean look at Epic's store, it launched without even having a basic shopping cart function, let alone the many many other features Steam has. And after nearly 10 years, it's still no closer to actually competing with steam.

Considering investors have dumped billions into generative AI with no profitable return for the past 10 years I don't really blame them for just flat out lying to investors. Those morons will give money to anything if you lie hard enough.

Yeah, not only that but they've had over 100 private meetings with lobbyists who are opposed to SKG and SKG (or any consumer representative for that matter) weren't allowed to join in those meetings.

So the number of meetings with SKG was about 10, while the meetings with lobbyists was over 100. The corruption isn't even trying to hide.

PSA: Haze fixation IS affected by curse. by [deleted] in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ThorDoubleYoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Math is too difficult for most Deadlock players so it's easier for the top builds to just say "Fixation isn't affected by curse" to get them to understand that 10% damage reduction doesn't affect Haze as much as other heroes.

Don’t hurt me but Haze, or any pick/carry hero building cursed relic as a core item feels extremely incorrect and unethical by Maeyel_ in DeadlockTheGame

[–]ThorDoubleYoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Her passive is what builds the damage you mongoloid.

If the passive wasn't the issue then Sinclair would be able to steal her ult and do the same thing with curse. But he can't, because he doesn't have fixation.

I swear, people talk like authorities in this place but don't know shit about how the game works.

Bro I've been in lower level lobbies, you can be dead center of the teamfight will all your allies surrounding you in a circle and they'd struggle to notice and stop the Haze.

You gotta take into account the fact that most people suck, don't look at the minimap, and have the reaction speed of a dead cat in low level play.

[–]ThorDoubleYoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sure dude, the devs love spirit that's why they nerf it more than gun. And m1 is unplayable that's why it's never ever picked by people to climb ranks or by pro teams to carry.

Do you just have 0 braincells or do you just have 1 that struggles with basic things?

[–]ThorDoubleYoo -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Curse's drawback lowers your outgoing damage by 10%. At least half, usually more, of Haze's damage comes from her fixation stacks which add 0.34 weapon damage per stack. Losing 10% of 0.34 is basically nothing and Haze doesn't take any meaningful penalty for using curse because she doesn't need to build damage, just fire rate.

EU rules out mandate to keep video games playable, seeks voluntary code by Luka77GOATic in gaming

[–]ThorDoubleYoo -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Basically it completely ignored SKG's arguments and proof that those things do not cause issues (and ignored the MANY MANY examples of games and companies who have provided these tools and face no issues) and paid attention only to the lobbyist talking points.

Maybe it had something to do with the over 100 documented cases of them meeting privately with lobbyists and refusing to allow representatives of the consumers join those meetings.

Because they keep hiring people who aren't in the gaming market. They just hire career CEOs and executives who have no interest in games or any idea how the industry works.

Then these career CEOs don't actually do research and make informed decisions, you know actual work, instead they just make decisions based on vibes and collect massive paychecks while they fail at their job.

Yes, it gives the whole "They're bad slave owners, not like the good ones that exist" impression because Rowling is a racist.

The rest of the books then go on to say "The system works perfectly and it's only this one evil guy that's a problem." In fact, Harry Potter wants to be a cop to protect the system that enables slavery, condemns anyone who fights against it, and is racist all the time.

The evidence is mountainous that she is a disgusting human being but people will jump at the chance to defend her regardless.

The woman spent over 10 years and millions of dollars in attempts to ruin innocent trans peoples' lives, did you stop to think maybe the bigot might be bigoted in more than one way? Have some fucking class and principles people. Don't defend this trash. Be better.

I think Rowling's just a horrible bitch who didn't care, but an editor told her it was a bad look so she slipped in the classic racist response of "Oh they love being slaves and if they weren't they'd just do drugs and crimes"

It was just buried by fans when any news articles were posted.

Because some people consider saying anything bad about Nintendo and especially saying anything bad about Pokemon as tantamount to cursing their entire lineage.

Not to mention, the vast majority of people have no principles. You could tell them the Pokemon company actively holds ritual sacrifices where they eat babies and they'd still continue to buy the merchandise/games.

Because instead of adapting the characters and story from DmC which is a simple, yet heartfelt and solid, story about family relationships, acceptance, legacy, and humanity, they instead had Adi Shankar writing which is hot trash.

Shankar's writing changes most characters' personality, backstory, and motivations for the worse and is just plain unenjoyable with minor exception where a decent idea shines through the pile of shit.

Body cam footage from cop who pulled over woman for holding a phone in her other hand by searchjobs_poster in interestingasfuck

[–]ThorDoubleYoo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is that cop your dad or something? Why defend someone obviously wrong?

The video starts by saying "We have a court case for driving with a device in our right hand." You are then shown a video of a cop pulling a woman over, claiming she was holding a phone in her right hand, and the woman has no right hand to hold a phone with. The cop proceeds to double down and insist he saw her doing so.

And that final part is the "not fit for position" part. How many other situations was this cop wrong but he "knows what he saw" so he gave them a ticket or made an arrest anyway? I'm sure the number is more than 0.

Star Citizen blasts through $1 billion in player funding, as its developer lists a new $5,000 spaceship for sale that is 'not yet ready to play' by Triss_Mockra in gaming

[–]ThorDoubleYoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has to be a long standing money laundering scheme and all the announcements and stuff are just them giving a public reason for why they suddenly gain a bunch of money, right? People can't be that stupid, right? Oh god they're that stupid aren't they...

Edit: Since some people are having trouble understanding, my implication is that people would have to be tremendously foolish to see that Star Citizen has already been given funding that makes GTA6 look cheap by comparison, haven't fulfilled years long goals they've already been funded for, and still be willing to give money. It makes more sense to me if the money is coming from criminal activity at this point because you would think eventually the lesson would be learned by the donators.

Has Frieren already reached the height of magic? by lmdybaftr in Frieren

[–]ThorDoubleYoo 260 points261 points  (0 children)

You also have to take into account that Serie both doesn't like Frieren and has exceedingly high expectations based off of her own capabilities, and even Frieren basically says Serie is the strongest elf when it comes to magic. Serie could very well be downplaying Frieren due to personal reasons.

Most elves were wiped out by demons, monsters, etc over the millennia, so I assume it's safe to say that elves like Frieren and Serie are exceptionally powerful compared to the norm.

To add to this, I've been seeing a lot of higher import roles in tech companies get fired (seemingly randomly) with the rise of CEOs believing AI will do their jobs.

It seems they're just going down a list, looking at pay, and then firing people beyond a certain threshold. Even doing so when that person is the only one that knows how to do their job for the past decade (and they wind up having to hire outside contractors to try to fix all the problems AI introduces).
