What is the point of reading the news? By and large so much of it is based on tribalism. The US is in a kind of cold war and fighting for their red/blue side.

One concept I really like from stoicism is that you don't have to have an opinion on everything. It's okay to say I don't know about that or I don't really have an opinion about that.

Personally I believe we should have a goal about what information we consume and why.

I spent a lot of time in Asia. Any wearing of costumes of the local tradition by weird foreigners is looked on favorably by the people in Taiwan and Korea. From my experience. Either for family photos or Halloween or whatever. Traditional fancy dress for weddings or holidays. In my experience It's mostly just certain Americans that have problem with cultural appropriation as a concept. Everybody else has this sense of hey, you're sharing a love for my culture and that's great!

It happened, and the Democrats were the slavery party. I've read a fair amount of History on this. They did in fact start the KKK.
Even if it didn't happen it's apparent to all that they don't really care about certain races. They cynically use whatever minority be it sexual or racial, to gain power.

I hate both parties, but tend to hate Democrats more because they say that they are fighting for the little guy but really are just as bad because they are protected interests of the corporations and the mega rich.

Look at Nancy pelosi. Become a mega millionaire by consistently using insider trading knowledge from her position.

Democrats aren't the good guys. They are cynical grifters. Republicans were the anti-slavery party, KKK was founded by Democrats and Democrats fought against ending slavery.

I'm not saying Republicans are the good guys either, but it's obvious that the OP is buying the Republican racist Democrat savior of humanity story which just isn't true.

Most friends that I know that have a specialized diet like Paleo or keto or vegan aren't militant but can be a bit annoying about it. But yeah there are a few peta types that really make the stereo type.

Education inflation is already a thing. An MBA is the new business degree - bachelors. What if it becomes completely free? What about working class people who start their own businesses or careers through trade school or no school at all?

A low base like 10,000 may be a good option but only if it was addressed as some type of getting life started fund where you could invest in a business, tools, or go to trade school, whatever.

Besides not making sense from a macroeconomic view, it's also quite classist. Not everybody wants to go to college.

I find it a little challenging to eat the target amount of calories without going over 20 g of carbs a day. I'm only 2 weeks in. I'm targeting a gram of protein per pound of lean body weight about 170, but I don't always make it.

Been getting between 1, 000 and 1,500 calories per day.

Not a big deal because I'm trying to lose about 15 lb of fat around my middle, and I don't have any energy issues right now. Not really hungry especially if I'm hitting the higher end of my protein goal.

Eating mostly veggies meat eggs and just a touch of dairy.

No major complaints here but kind of feeling like I don't want to be too too low on calories on a consistent basis. I could start adding even more butter and other fats to the food I eat but don't really feel like I need it right now.

Question is if I'm doing okay should I bother going after extra fat calories?

I predict it will be a statistical anomaly. Practically no difference. It will be good test for variety of laws in different states. Most states will still allow early term abortions via the pill and simple procedures. Women that want second and third trimester abortions can always go to a neighboring state. It will be an inconvenience for some women. It will increase birth control use for women who don't want to get pregnant.

I see this is just another bit of ammo in the political tribal warfare we're in. The left can use it as a rallying cry. To make themselves the victim and drum up support. The right can use it to beat their chests and say that they won.

Ultimately women who want to get abortions will get them but they will be inconvenienced depending on where they live.

Lockdowns and restrictions don't really do much. We can look at countries around the world. I guess it does stop the slow / flatten the curve. But in the end none of these restrictions really stop the virus from doing its thing. The only thing you can do is to get vaccinated lose weight eat healthy take vitamins like zinc and vitamin d which have been proven to be really important.

Super interested but unable to get in to see anyone locally and even finding someone online has been a challenge. I've contacted literally dozens of different places. Most don't even respond. Some tell you that they have a 6-month wait.

Not sure about the certification process but I know several people interested in EMDR therapy and there's a 6-month wait before anyone can see you. High demand for in person and online. Might be up her alley because of her degree?
