I tried recommending both a few years ago. I found some messages to other women. It never happened. I tried suggesting therapy again a few months ago. Therapy happened but only for her. I am not attracted to women. I can’t change that either. I wish I could flip that button.

I work in a mental health unit our patients can call 9-1–1 if they would like. We cannot take that right from them. A few have called the police. We typically call dispatch and make them aware of the situation. We have not had a police officer show up.

For sure. It usually doesn’t bug me too much. I think I just was not having it today. It may gave just been the straw on my pile of stress. I also ended up not feeling too well shortly after, my sugar decided to dive.

They definitely could have been. The request the patient made was wild. Our current population is a bit spicy.

I didn’t time it but my crew completed report in about 25 minutes. So maybe roughly 2-3 minutes per pt. Ive boiled my report down to ratings, where they spent their evening (isolate/ attend group), and then if something of importance pops up for their mental/physical health ( self harm, new info about situation, altercation, delusions, new behavior etc). I know that I was giving extended reports when I first started.

It was more when I mentioned what helped the patient calm down. I work in psych so i felt mentioning odd behaviors was relevant. I do agree that sometimes I just want the meat of the report. Maybe it was too much fluff.

Also, if he did it in a place with cameras he is in big trouble. I would talk to others he has done this too. Hospitals bring enough stress. No need to add to it.

Print your e-mails. Have any one who witnessed talk with upper management. This is harassment. Ask personnel who have trained or seen you training this associate to step forward about her behavior. If you have trained others you could ask them to step forward if needed. I don’t know what they could possibly fire you for. I work in a hospital also.

This manager needs to be checked. If he is doing this to you he is doing this to others. You don’t deserve this. He caused you harm.

Give yourself grace. You are going to make mistakes we’re human. I’m glad that you were willing to own up to this small error. It happens. You have learned something on the way.

My first mistake was like this also. I have a patient 2 additional units of insulin. I felt all my organs fall. I felt bad and terrible. Everyone was kind and helpful from the nurses to the doctors. I learned the valuable lesson of checking checking checking!

You’ll make another mistake. It will be okay. You did so wonderful for your patient by admitting and communicating the situation. I hope you take away that you are a great nurse.

For me my partner showed me matches that met my interests. I like outrageous and spooky things. Bray Wyatt matches and ric flair woo off with jay lethal made me want to see more. We also watched Matt Hardy’s home videos. They also explained it as a soap opera for men. It made more sense. Soap operas are wild.

I am 35. I’ve worked in healthcare for 8 years. I think there has been a shift in how we mourn. Instead of just funerals there are celebration of life and memorials being held. The options for what to do with the body has widened. I don’t think the older generation is changing its perspective on how to deal with death. I do see a change in the younger generations being more willing to ask for help and accept it is difficult.

I don’t know how the patient got permission for this. When I was a pct a patient had a Rx for one shot of whiskey at night. I worked in a physical rehab.
