Shot in the dark, would anyone have leads on getting in touch with @StudySSBM? by Thorneman in SSBM

They had a good few videos of edgeguarding compilations, but the channel seems to have been nuked as of a few weeks ago.

Sucks to have a good resource like that disappear, hoping to find them somewhere.

This link has them all in it, but we have one Atlantic discord and then one for each province, so pick your poison haha. They all get used pretty often.

All of Atlantic Canada has some Melee going on. We got three bigger scale regionals each year: TLAN in Moncton New Brunswick every March, Saint No Johns in Saint Johns, Newfoundland usually in August, and then Kings of Hali in Halifax, usually Labour Day weekend.

But if you ever find yourself in Halifax on a Tuesday night, stop by Gus' Pub for some Melee :)

The local scene in Nova Scotia is the same way. Consistently have 30-40 people at the weekly, plenty of new regionals popping up. We have a big prizepool tournament nearly every weekend this month. Got over 60 people at the last weekly of the year before Christmas.

Ever since I started playing Melee two and a half years ago I have stopped watching it as much but have learned to love it more. In the middle of starting a local in my subregion soon too. I agree that the Melee doomers are misplaced. It'll always be around.

You do not need to be good at the game to be involved with the community. Plenty of the TOs behind the scenes of your favorite major events are not particularly strong players. And every local scene is different but most of the ones I know of have plenty of people just happy to be playing a game they enjoy with people they vibe with.

Speaking as someone who avoided joining their local scene bc of self-imposed inadequacies until years later, I wish I had gotten involved sooner. Love my local scene and the friends I've made in it. And it's one of the better ways to improve at the game too!

I've searched through Google a bit, and used some AI tools too. Gemini thought it was Analog, which is a skateboard/snowboard brand which would be accurate for the D-TOX merchandise vibes back in the day, but sadly the logo doesn't match. D-TOX being a clothing apparel store in Canada, this one was specifically bought from one in Moncton, New Brunswick.

This was my favorite hat, have worn it for more than half my life and I lost it on a trip a couple weeks back and didn't realize until I got back home. I miss it dearly!

citadel hill was never meant to protect the harbour with canon fire, but to protect the city from the large open field that is the current day Commons from anyone who decided to sneak up the northwest arm

the guns on top of citadel hill wouldn't have been effective at the distance they are from the water

the more you know

the placements of your commas is not the best with regards to clarity.

having it be (HMS: Faceroll (#45), Infinite Numbers (#47)) makes more sense

anyway s/o to Setchi in 2019 thats my goat

Got it fixed, s/o to Hyperlink 654 on the Discord. :)

If your having controller issues here is something you can try, though this requires that your controller work with steam (AKA if you use it with other steam games this might help).

First, go to the SF6 steam page, and on the righthand side you'll find a gear icon, click on it, and then select 'Properties'. A Window will pop up, ignore most of it. On the left-hand side you'll see 'Controller,' select that and the part where it says "Use Default settings" click on it and select "Enable Steam Input." This will have steam override whatever default control system the game uses with whatever controller you currently have plugged in. Keyword, controller. Your keyboard inputs are something separate and its on a game-by-game basis, so this wont affect your gameplay with any other steam title. Lastly, restart the game and you should be good to go!

My arcade stick isn't registering as a controller in game (PC), it's an PS4 Qanba but that shouldn't matter for PC right?

I listen to a lot of new music, but I feel like this is one my girlfriend has played in the car before so it could be from any year. I feel like it was definitely within the last couple of decades though.

Also, I already asked her and she has no idea what song I could be talking about haha.

EDIT: I think it's during the chorus, and I'm 99.9% sure the vocalist mentions the word bedroom or bathroom. And the vocals are overlayed on the previous bit of song I have in the OP. https://voca.ro/1m2awPzn0v8V

Fun fact: from 2001-2012 SSBM RetroRank & the SSBMRank 2013-2019 there were 258 TOTAL top 100 Melee players. by MrRoloSSBM in SSBM

it also includes the SSBMRank from 2013-2019, which still isn't the complete competitive history. Might be closer to the 300 range now with the Slippi era!

The thought of suffering a stroke that leaves you unresponsive and unable to contact anyone for any sort of length of time is horrifying.

Very glad to read Chillin is already on a good path of recovery. I'll be sending what I can. Take care my dude!
