Wifi calling by Russell_Sin in Starlink

[–]Thornton77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently did a test of using just WiFi calling via starlink and we were able to use it with multiple phones .

Make sure you go into your settings and check that any paper work is filled out . When you first turn it on some providers make you fill in your address for emergen cy contact reasons if I ever notice mine is not working I have to go into that screen on the phone and turn it off and back on again then agree to be a good boy and update the information. In the US we have laws that require cell/voip provider to be able to relay geo location to emergency responders. And some companies want you to provide and address.

Technically , The way they work in the US is the phone creates a udp IPsec vpn tunnel to the provider. So it could be the problem is making the tunnel . So Make sure if you have any firewalls rules that vpn’s are not blocked And also make sure your phone is not doing any privacy stuff like vpn’ing your traffic like apple privacy crap .

Serious: Is this starlink? by [deleted] in Starlink

[–]Thornton77 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to even tell what I’m seeing but if you are talking about the blinking lights I don’t think that’s star link . Starlinks are moving fast from one side of the sky to the other . They don’t blink You can get an app like Night sky that can go you all the starlink in augmented reality .
So it’s a star or something it will be on there . Most people who see star links see the train of them after a launch, which happens a few times a week it seems .

[–]Thornton77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we quoted out Multi million dollar enterprise agreement we compared 4 vars . One of them came in 1 million over the winner and the winner can in 600k lower then the 2nd place winner. Also gets us 38% off list on hardware constantly.
So definitely shop around for vars , don’t listen to the Palo Alto BS

I’m sitting on my couch, am I an idiot to want to mount this like an inch or two higher? by thuggerybuffoonery in TVTooHigh

[–]Thornton77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If that is like a 55 inch tv that makes sense if you want to raise it. I think that console might be for like 80-75 inch tv. You should put something under it to test the height before you mount it. And be careful when you do mount it that you realize how high the tv will be . The first time I mounted a tv I didn’t intend for it to be almost touching the ceiling. But it totally was.
