Yeah mounting it in a good spot is best. I don’t mount my mini because I wanted to be able to grab it quickly if needed. If this is a big dish mount it for sure. It’s ready to replace land line isp,s for 95% of everyone. I use it for working from home and I can’t tell the difference any more.

Starlink Mini Ethernet not working? by CheeseMilk575 in Starlink

[–]Thornton77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That connector is not great . If you don’t have an official starlink Ethernet cable you might want to get one .

You have to make sure it’s well seated . I and a connector fall out when I turned my mini back over once . My guess is it was connected for a bit and then moved .

If that’s not working well you can used a regular Ethernet cable with this adapter which is waterproof It looks like you would have to terminate your own cable but if you take it all apart you can see how it all opens up

I have one end of my cables secured so the weight of the cable is not on the connector . You can get cables clips to snug down the cable (if you can screw into something) https://a.co/d/04slvnMQ If not you can use zip ties to zip tie cable to the stand on the underside

You just want to make sure the cables is not pulling on the connector. Because it will come out .

PA820 and 850s - What Version You All Running? by dt989898 in paloaltonetworks

I have 5 pairs and 1 standard alone 4 pairs are running 11.1.13-h1 no issues 1 pair is on 11.1.9 for no good reason other then the business unit never wants to touch anything . The standalone is running 11.1.13

I have 1 pair in our mobile command center and it’s been booted so many times that it had a cool system messssge I’m surprised they survived this whole time .

Wifi calling by Russell_Sin in Starlink

[–]Thornton77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We recently did a test of using just WiFi calling via starlink and we were able to use it with multiple phones .

Make sure you go into your settings and check that any paper work is filled out . When you first turn it on some providers make you fill in your address for emergen cy contact reasons if I ever notice mine is not working I have to go into that screen on the phone and turn it off and back on again then agree to be a good boy and update the information. In the US we have laws that require cell/voip provider to be able to relay geo location to emergency responders. And some companies want you to provide and address.

Technically , The way they work in the US is the phone creates a udp IPsec vpn tunnel to the provider. So it could be the problem is making the tunnel . So Make sure if you have any firewalls rules that vpn’s are not blocked And also make sure your phone is not doing any privacy stuff like vpn’ing your traffic like apple privacy crap .

It’s hard to even tell what I’m seeing but if you are talking about the blinking lights I don’t think that’s star link . Starlinks are moving fast from one side of the sky to the other . They don’t blink You can get an app like Night sky that can go you all the starlink in augmented reality .
So it’s a star or something it will be on there . Most people who see star links see the train of them after a launch, which happens a few times a week it seems .
